Important question. Are the trees 2D?
Well, last we heard, the game was completed last year, and it was delayed to overhaul the menu and club system, not the graphics?Absolutely this.
DRIVECLUB is still in development so the image quality you can see does not reflect the final quality of the game.
Agreed, the game looks too plain. Nothing exciting going on. It is lacking weather effects, collision physics and the tracks look a bit staticSame, it looks good but nothing mindblowing.

I think its just that people expect better for a 30fps game. Reminds me of Forza 5's AA issues.
I believe weather and car damage have both been confirmed for the game actually. Unless you're just referring to this video?Agreed, the game looks too plain. Nothing exciting going on. It is lacking weather effects, collision physics and the tracks look a bit static
I expected these things in Evo's next game after playing the motorstorm games.
Looks like a car just smashed into Knack, nooooo! If anyone looks for me, I'm in my room being all mopey that we didn't get this game:

Looks like it's be well worth the wait....you'd have to do some real nitpicking to say this doesn't look great. Hope everything else is really fleshed out.
I was hoping to be more impressed.
Same, it looks good but nothing mindblowing.
Rushy said in an interview with ign a few days ago that the visuals were absolutely being worked on. The delay allowed them to add in other effects that weren't gonna be there before, etc.Well, last we heard, the game was completed last year, and it was delayed to overhaul the menu and club system, not the graphics?

Yep, and watching the videos again it really is distracting at times. I hope that we see much improved AA at launch, and if not, they should consider removing some of the worst offending bits from the track, or tweaking them to compensate.I think it's worse than Forza 5 just because the aliasing seems more obvious given the increased details in the environments.

I hope for this. Game will look insane if clean. InsaneRushy said in an interview with ign a few days ago that the visuals were absolutely being worked on. The delay allowed them to add in other effects that weren't gonna be there before, etc.
He also said the delay allowed them to add more content. Including cars and tracks.
And to the people complaining about the AA, this Evolution we're talking about here. The studio that puts everything together at the very last minute! Remember the Pacific Rift demo that came out that looked barren and not so great? Then a few weeks later the full game came out and was awesome?! Yeah, I believe in Evolution to get the job done right. Even if it takes them till the very last minute.
Any word on weather effects? There's no excuse not to have them in the game with an October release date.
Great options of camera position.
I think all those wires was a poor choice, they really stand out and make you wish they had a better AA solution. There is also something wrong with the light in the edge of the card parts, I don't know how to describe it.
Didn't look much better than GT5 tbh? or maybe i'm wrong, been awhile since I played GT5.

There will be weather.
We don't know what types of weather, but one assumes/hope they'll have the basics at least. I'm hoping for a thick snow blizzard at night, would make for an eye meltingly awesome display...

Weather was mentioned in one of their latest videos, shortly after the release date and PS+ upgrade version video. Its at the very least one of the options you set when creating challenges, besides track and time of day and the others.Weather has never been confirmed and only brought up because the community asks about it. They only say it COULD be patched in later. Car damage is only visual and not mechanical.
GT5's photo mode maybe....other than that GT is FAR too inconsistent to give it a ton a praise....it tries to do too much.

When was that confirmed?

Just noticed something I didn't in the IGN video....how in the world are we all missing it?
The sky and environment is reflecting under the engine....Inside the car. I can't unsee it now. It's like the reversed F5 mirrors x 10.
The poly-count in that engine bay is rough too. Perhaps we'll see a bump out of Beta.

I love the bitching about the bitching. This game's hype has been and is still primarily being built up on its focus on visuals, so don't be surprised if people appreciate and criticize them. Game has obvious IQ issues that any other game would get dinged for.
Well, where have you been all of this time? The backhanded butthurt is always strong in X1 threads with something neat but not that neat...certainly not neat enough to pay any money for, not like the all-powerful other system with all of its non-moneyhatted exclusives featuring actual soul running at 1080p/60fps and perfect image quality. It's tiring reading past the dumb posts made by people who claim not to be interested at all in the system and its games, until it drops Kinect and goes for $99 and then maybe, just maybe, it will be okay...but only for the couple decent games it has. And, remember, maker of X1-only game was never all that good, anyway. Console wars, they're lame.
It does look way too reflective. But technically, it should be somewhat reflective because of the underplate/skid plate
It's called MLAAWe all know Rushy went to Santa Monica to get the secret God of War 3 AA formula![]()
The once high-quality motion blur has taken a steep downgrade. :\
I'm with you, I think the bitching about the bitching is also hil-arious.
Fine with me. Works like a charmeIt's called MLAAUsed for excellent IQ in Beyond as well. Infamous SS uses an advanced version combining MLAA and MSAA. Many devs will likely use that going forward.
In an IGN interview talking about the delay Rushy mentioned they've been improving the visuals, audio and handling and have been adding content during the delay as well.Well, last we heard, the game was completed last year, and it was delayed to overhaul the menu and club system, not the graphics?
I literally just played GT5 a few hours ago. You're wrong.Didn't look much better than GT5 tbh? or maybe i'm wrong, been awhile since I played GT5.
If they can implement Infamous's AA solution in this I will be giddy.
