Does the weather affect the frame rate?

Not only rock solid, but I swear the regular AA is better....on a clear bright track is looks less jaggy to me...I need someone to back me up or maybe I'm just high after seeing this awesome weather

Repost from photo thread.

Since I set my tv to sharpness ''0'' I hardy notice any shimmering or aliasing anymore...

Yeah don't worry, my tv setup is perfect. And from normal viewing distance the game looks fine. But i can still see more shimmering than i'd like.

It's just a small gripe in an otherwise perfectly great game. The detail in this game is so amazing that it deserves an even better iQ imo.

For anyone asking about 'shimmering', has your TV got PC mode? If it has set it to that. It immediately improved the image quality of ALL games for me.

AA is better in some parts, but not others. Maybe it's the new tracks (I doubt it) but some fence lines (particularly wire ones) are still kinda jaggy and distracting. Not too much though, about the same as before I think.

Let's not act like the game is perfectly clean. It's okay to adress that, or is it a crime?
It's just the tiny upgrade a game like this deserves. Not trolling. Not hating on the game, just the last little thing that would make the game perfect for me personally.

will check that out tonight. Sounds good. Any improvement is welcome.

I never suggested it was perfectly clean. I'm just passing on something that made me so damned happy when I changed it.

Fair enough. It's just certain things like tops of steering wheels, the aliasing seems gone there, but I suppose I'm over the moon about the weather. Proper next gen looking stuff.

From where do they take the extra performance?

And couldn't they use it for non handling changing effects for the standard weather? Like fog, leaves flying around, wildfires whatever?

Heavy precipitation on Lytton using cockpit view is pretty much heaven. I already cannot remember what dry racing is like in DriveClub.

So, now that the online functionality is fixed and the dynamic weather is in, are Polygon going to update their review again?

http://www.polygon.com/2014/10/7/6570539/driveclub-review-ps4-playstation-4

Actually, that's an interesting thought. If they alter their review and score it lower then they MUST also do that in reverse. If they don't then it's not fair at all. And if they do, they can't put it back to what it was, they'd have to score it higher because of the whether update.

they (Polygon) probably will re score the game. easy hits, to be cynical about it.

so is the patch actually out? I can't tell from the thread

I can vouch for that, my TV was basically completely blurring out the console output until I turned PC mode on.

I just stumbled on it by accident. No matter how I adjusted my TV, there was also a lot of 'sparkling' (don't know the technical term) on the edges of objects in games. Then I put it on PC mode! REVELATION. I still have control over sharpness too but I don't know if it's the same for all TVs. Mine's a Philips. It also stops the borders on LBP3!

Holy shit off a stick!! This is just truly astonishing! How the fuck did Evo do this?! And the framerate is just, well it's unwavering....not noticed a single drop! Outrageous! Can't wait for the new single player events to land.

Now seems like the perfect time to buy this game...

Was thinking the same thing, I noticed Amazon were selling this for £30. Is driveclub worth getting for single player? I currently only have 3 PSN friends and they have not got Driveclub.

It is a shame the PS+ version does not look like it will get a release this year, would liked to have tried it before I buy, as I have not bought a racing game since Burnout Paradise.

Yes, it is absolutely worth it for the singleplayer. Bear in mind you can join GAF-created clubs if you want to do so. It's also my first racing game since Burnout Paradise, and I love it.

Thank you Rushy! ;)

This will be amazing winter, heading to arrange my T300RS purchase ASAP

I think I like this one way more than the weather update.
