Druckmann: the fake shot trailer used to protect spoiling of TLOU2 got them in trouble, jokes Intergalactic would get less hate due to religion theme

The only time I've seen religion being pulled off well in a piece of literature in when the entire story/premise from the ground up behaves in a matter-of-factly kind of way towards religiosity. This has only happened when the producers are actually practicing what they preach, they live by it, and they display it in a mundane kind of way--pros and cons and and weird cultural values and all. Its actually fascinating to read a good story written by someone with different values.

Druckmann is a mainstream social media zionist and his posse are liberal globalists with a paint coating of spiritualism; if they have any at all.

So in conclusion: This game's 'Religious theme' is going to fall flat on its face.
Never read anything like that but I agree on the conclusion. I just have trouble seeing this studio do anything interesting with this theme that hasn’t been told before, they don’t do roleplaying so they have to go with a linear fits-everyone story. It’ll likely be something like this:
1. Believer struggle to keep the faith, break down, gets it back in the end.
2. Non-believer mock religion but finds out that there might be something else out there in the end.
3. Religion versus science. Can higher beings exist? Can science verify it or prove that it’s all bs.
4. Religious war and extremists, player tries to get all parts to coexist in peace despite different viewpoints.
5. Corruption within a seemingly okay religion, dark secrets will be unveiled, highest priest is pure evil and the end boss.

Do I hear a yawn? No? Maybe it was myself 🥱

Not sure what the point was with this interview. Sounds like Neil was looking for confirmation bias in his mistakes. Also, seemingly trying to align himself on equal footing with Garland, even though the mediums they work with aren't comparable. Seems like he's too stubborn to acknowledge his missteps and seeks affirmation.

Death threats are absolute idiocy, and should utterly be fully ignored, but its ridiculous to dismiss the rest of legitimate criticism due to them. That's myopic and foolish.

Druckman is one of the worst things to happen to video games.
Putting him in charge of Naughty dog is probably the worst thing to have happened to the studio. He's chipping away at their prestige and good name at the expense of his vain "high brow art". Ultimately, the ones that will pay the price will be Sony and ND.

The fake trailer was an amazing idea.
If only people were t so butthurt and ruin it weeks before release for everyone

I told the store that the fake check I purchased the game with was an amazing idea and they shouldn't get so butthurt about having their financial expectations subverted.

The Israel-Palestine conflict is based entirely on the premise that the State of Israel was promised to the Jewish people by 'God'.

A homeland which they've inhabited for thousands of years and which the Arab-Persian world has violently tried to snuff out since the day of its formal declaration, yes. Only one side of that conflict has regularly committed unspeakable atrocities for the last fifty years. Lo and behold, it's the same side that adheres to the following verses from their holy books as infallible dogma:

Surah 9:5
"Then kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush …"

Surah 9:29

"Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day nor hold that forbidden which has been forbidden by Allah and his apostle nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth even if they are of the people of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Sahih Muslim, Book 54, Hadith 103
"The Messenger of Allah said, 'The Last Hour will not come until the Muslims fight against the Jews, until a Jew will hide himself behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or the tree will say: ‘O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him.'"

Please list the last time Jews led a war of conquest in the name of God against non-believers. Please describe where in the New Testament it exhorts Christians to violence against those who deny Jesus. These should be easy questions if, as you say, they're really all just the same religion.

"He identifies his religion as Odinism".

Remember when I said "all religions are the same" earlier in this thread?
They're all biased sects, living in their own bubble and thinking others are 'wrong'.

Yes, I remember. Nothing has changed: it's equally as nonsensical and pointless to say all ethnicities or all cultures are the same. All countries are the same because each one acts in its own self-interest. All people, in fact, are the same because every person is biased in their own favor, thus nobody is more or less better than anyone else. That's where your argument logically leads. It's a meaningless premise.

It's all the same in the sense that religions keep people inside their bubble and limit critical thinking, self-reflection and often accountability.

And yes, ultimately we're all the same. That's kind of my point, isn't it? Pointing fingers is retarded, because everything goes for all of us.
So religions are equally as good or as bad as eachother.

And if you really want to get philosophical, the entire concept of good and bad is subjective.
