I have two Dualsense controller so one I can swap them when the battery runs out.The PS5 controllers are generally garbage.
Stick drift, the rubber coating on the sticks dissolves after a few months and batteries with low capacities are installed.
Is this supposed to be an argument or what? This rather confirms my argument about the ridiculous battery life.I have two Dualsense controller so one I can swap them when the battery runs out.
Just because you got a bunch of lemons doesn't mean the controller is a POS.
This is my main worry about the 8bitdo controllers. I haven't tried them yet, but from the look of them I'm afraid they might feel to "narrow" to hold, like having to play with your shoulder / elbows close to yourself.I prefer when the handles go outward more while the 8bitdo controllers are more vertical.

I don't think you'd like them then. It's definitely not Dreamcast tier but it's pretty narrow. That being said it's still better then the Pro controller in every way besides comfort so I still use it on Switch. This is my main worry about the 8bitdo controllers. It does, but not all models do, so find a spec sheet on Reddit (I think last time I found it there) and check which model has what.Just got one of these and it is, indeed, excellent. Does it have Hall effect sticks? I can’t remember.
Who cares, dude?They laugh.
Nobody is going to mention the inferior battery in the Edge compared to the stock DualSense???
Hall effect adds input latency and have other downsides. Controllers will always be consumables like car tires that just need to be replaced with use.Best console exclusive controller ever made.
500hz polling rate on console and 1000hz plus on PC.
I pimped mine out with micro switch buttons and am waiting on reasonable Hall effect analogs to complement it.
PS should have made it a wired controller with the same solid proprietary plug that the DS2 uses. The Dualsense edge's largest issue imo is the battery life. For a $200 premium controller, it has a laughable 3-4 hours batter life that is even 33% shorter than the regular one. What a clown show.
Nope. It is 500hz wired on console and over 1000hz wired on PC.Hall effect adds input latency and have other downsides. Controllers will always be consumables like car tires that just need to be replaced with use.
PS should be able to get lower input latency via wired connection on a console than is possible on PC via USB.

Never thinking about batteries can be a bigger advantage than never thinking about wires.

It has perfect sticks, but the D-pad started "shifting" after two months and the triggers were always too sensitive. Like, the slightest amount of pressure would activate a held pull. This could be because I "game" on Linux of course.
I got their cheaper plug in only one and it works perfect too. It's amazing how bad Sony's controllers have been since the Dual Shock 3.Nothing can and will ever beat...

Then you're doing something crazy with them. All my dualsense controllers have some drift…
Don't know why folk are laugh reacting. I've went through 4 of them. Every single one got drift. I ended up modding one with hall effect sticks recently, would reccomend that. All my dualsense controllers have some drift…

they come with drift out of the box. Denying this is an issue is just giving Sony agency to sell shit hardware.
Selling a fucking $200 controller that shares the same issues as the regular ones (battery and drift) is just a fucking insult, you can add to that the lack of stick replacement parts, they're scamming everybody.

I've had just about every controller under the sun, and the only ones that have had stick drift are the dualsense and the joycons. I still have my original PS4 controller that's outlived 4 of my dualsenses. Hell, My original N64 analogue sticks are still in perfect working condition. There is not a chance in hell I'd pay out for any Sony "premium" controller, its clear they are either poorly designed or designed to fail.I've never had stick drift on any controller I've ever owned. People say the same thing about Elite controllers and there again, never had a problem. It is just weird that the folks that do have the problem seem to have it with all their controllers and the folks that don't, never have it.

Topher I refunded the duelsense at my local Best Buy. Hassle free. Still a 60 miles run sucks
His profile say Quebec City.60 miles? You live in the sticks?
Dualsense is the most comfortable controller for my hands. Tried Xbox controler and it sucked. As for stick drift, all modern console controllers have it. I use two Dualsense controllers and swap them ocassionally, helps to delay stick drift. I also have bad news for you all PS5 users who want to live hassle free. You need to clean your PS5 from the inside or it will start malfunctioning and turning itself off. Compared to that, stick drift ain't so bad. Dualsense battery sucks, but can be easily fixed by buying another one and a charging dock. The PS5 controllers are generally garbage.

All controllers do from all Companys. My Elite 2 controller had it after 2 months.Got one for Xmas and it as stick drift…300$ CAD and not even perfect what the hell.
I've mine for almost a year iirc, works great, have no complains. You probably had faulty controllers from the bad batch from the factory.Had two, both their batteries died and both had squeaky R1 buttons
I have my original. What kind of sweat are you producing to have the rubber fall off after a few months? The PS5 controllers are generally garbage.

You are like the first case .. ever
Agree with what you said and two sets of back buttons would be insanely awesome. I would remap them to r1,r2,l1,l2. Right now I map the 2 buttons to r1, l1, and have to stretch my index finger to use r2, l2.Love the edge except for battery life and price. Especially the back buttons and adaptive triggers. Finally got a replacement stick and it's great having a backup ready-to-go. Hoping the next version has a second set of back buttons.
Yeah, same. Have never had an issue with drift or the controller not functionally working since the PS1. Then again, I don't play many competitive games where I would probably be more likely to abuse the sticks.I've never had stick drift on any controller I've ever owned. People say the same thing about Elite controllers and there again, never had a problem. I have my Dualsense Controllers since the PS5 launch.
In contrast to you with your Balerina hands, where you apparently still put on gloves again in order not to attack the rubber, it is simply normal that the cheap rubber layer wears out.
I am still using my Launch PS5 DS while I know people which need up to two DS per year. All my dualsense controllers have some drift…
Maybe, their wifes/kids/roomates/parents/pets secretly destroy them while they are at work. *shrug*I am still using my Launch PS5 DS while I know people which need up to two DS per year.
I do not know what the heck you all doing with you controllers.
Never ever killed a Controller and I am gamer since 1990.
I have 5 different DualSense controllers that I rotate. I play my PS5 almost daily. One of these five I have had since the system launched in November 2020. None of these controllers have any stick drift. Either you have the absolute worst luck with controllers in the world, or you are abusing your controllers. All my dualsense controllers have some drift…
How is the Vader 4 when it comes to compatibility with software like Steam? Is it recognised for what it is with full customisation? Failing that, does it have its own software that has decent customisation? They definitely do feel way to narrow to me. I still use one from time to time, though, on PC. However, my main go-to controller for PC is the Vader 4. Fantastic bit of kit.
You know that you can play while it is plugged in, right?"Just buy a second controller and a dock"
So the solution to poor battery life is to spend £100. That's not a reasonable solution, that's throwing enough money at a problem that you notice the problem less.
