If you don't mind soldering, you can replace the Dual Sense sticks with a TMR kit:
I have a 8bitdo Ultimate 1 & 2 and love them both on my PC. The Ultimate 3 is just coming out and looks to be Xbox currently, I'm sure we will start seeing them come out with other ones of the Ultimate 3.
I've never had stick drift in all my years with any controllers. Some of you guys much treat them like an ex that cheated on you or something
It's a Venn Diagram problem finding games supporting it, but There are some, Ubisoft's recent AssCreed games got haptics and triggers if you play wired, same with Hi-Fi Rush and Dave the Diver. But other than that it mostly Sony games supporting it.The rumble is the best. No 3rd party uses it that I'm aware of.
Nope.Is this a problem reported widely with the portal also since it is seemingly the same tech ?
Wonder why that is!Nope.
Hexgaming Phantom Pro.Another Dualsense with stick drift after a year of use. I have never seen anything like this and I've been playing games for almost 4 decades. This is my fourth controller and now I will have to buy a new one because it's very uncomfortable to play with this issue.
I want to ask you, how is the experience with the Xbox controller? Is it worth it?
I am thinking of getting one for pc and not buying Sony controllers ever again
I sold my original series x and my friend is still using it and the controller just fine; my 20th anniversary series x controller is also still working fine, my stellar shift I bought 3 years ago just imploded on me not that long ago though, all the face buttons stopped working and only the shoulders/sticks still do.I want to ask you, how is the experience with the Xbox controller? Is it worth it?
Same.I have my original launch dualsense and two others and never had any problems. How rough are you people with your controllers?
Yes, to what you said. It needs more support from other game developers. It's a Venn Diagram problem finding games supporting it, but There are some, Ubisoft's recent AssCreed games got haptics and triggers if you play wired, same with Hi-Fi Rush and Dave the Diver. That and Switch emulation. Silksong was supposed to have support, but they bungled it hard. Maybe the Sony's SDK/Drivers suck. I don't know. But it works perfectly with an emulator, you can even feel her heartbeats in the intro bit.
Fingers crossed the new Steam Controller encourages more devs to add haptics.
I quite understand all products have failure rates, but when people are going through multiple controllers in lots of cases maybe, just maybe the problem isnt with the controller. Drop the attitude next timeAhh yes, the typical "mine ain't broken so y'all must be doing something wrong with them" , feels like I'm on Reddit Gdammit...
ALL products have failure rates, some more than others, the Xbox, PS Dualsenses and OG Joycons though have a long history of being shit/problematic.

I've never once gotten stick drift with a PlayStation controller and it's been my primary console since the PS1.
I had it with several Joycons, but that's all. Not sure what you are doing to your controllers.

Its features are used in lots of games actually. Its only in forums people claim that there is lack of support. The rumble is the best. No 3rd party uses it that I'm aware of.

I think it's just the sticks, and this goes for Switch and Xbox as well. They fix that problem (they probably won't unless their ass gets sued, they make a fuck load on people buying controllers) and they have a fantastic controller.the Dualsense is absolute trash,
sadly, third party offerings are slim. on Xbox I can get a plethora of great hall effect/tmr stick controllers...
hell even on Switch/2 for some fucking reason... the system that needs it the least given that there are barely any competitive shooters on there.
but on PS5 there's like a handful of good alternatives... and they're all expensive AF.
3? Then it has to be you. What were you doing with them? Be honest.but have had to throw out 3 DualSense.
I have 3 with stick drift, I didn't throw them away though. I play a lot of CoD which might explain it but it really shouldn't happen when these fucking things cost ÂŁ60.3? Then it has to be you. What were you doing with them? Be honest.
Mines always plugged so I don't have the battery problem. It would get annoying seeing a low battery icon popping up all the time.I thankfully haven't had an issue with my controller, other than the awful battery. But I also haven't played my PS5 that much.
I turned on my ps5 for the first time in months yesterday, to delete FF7 Rebirth, knowing I'll be a sucker and buy the Switch 2 port. It was nearly dead. It was plugged into my ps5.Mines always plugged so I don't have the battery problem. It would get annoying seeing a low battery icon popping up all the time.
My PC controller is wireless though, charges when docked (8BitDo Ultimate 2) that seems to last a long time even without docking it.
Do you have it set to Communication Method: USB? Fuck BlueTooth.I turned on my ps5 for the first time in months yesterday, to delete FF7 Rebirth, knowing I'll be a sucker and buy the Switch 2 port. It was nearly dead. It was plugged into my ps5.
Are you seriously saying that PlayStation and Xbox have the same stick drift failure rate as Switch 1 Joycons? That makes zero sense, they have the same potentiometers in them, literally the same, so does Xbox official pads.
That being said, I think there is absolutely no reason beyond utter greed from these companies to not put TMR sticks in their pads now.
Just mod it or pay someone to mod your sticks, my DS Edge with Gulikit TMR sticks is the best pad i've ever used.
And battery life. I basically never use mine because unless you always plug it in after playing it will basically be dyong the next time you play.I wouldn't go as far as to call it a scam, but stick drift is by far the biggest problem with what is otherwise an excellent controller. It's particularly annoying as a PS5 owner because there's basically no other option that isn't outrageously expensive.

I love the Xbox controller but I have always thought the dual sense was kind of meh. Sony's controller just don't feel as good as the Xbox ones IMO.Another Dualsense with stick drift after a year of use. I dont have a holier than thou bullshit. I didn't mean mean to come off as being absolute, any product is not absolute, didn't think I'd have to write it out, but I guess everything needs to be spelled out. It's an exaggeration 99% of the time when people are saying something in absolutes. No attitude, i just can't stand the holier than thou bullshit, I'm allergic to that, maybe tone down on being absolute and people won't have a problem with your opinion.
When people are going through multiple controllers in lots of cases maybe, just maybe, the problem isnt with the use but in fact, the planned obsolescence and lack of quality control on a company's part.
PS: a guy I know that does repairs for a living has told me that the latest DS versions are, in fact, worse than the previous ones, hence why there's many people with their 1st and 2nd revision of joypads still going strong while others with newer ones face problems.
You can do this? Didn't know that.Do you have it set to Communication Method: USB? Fuck BlueTooth.
So you've been living under a rock for the last ten years or so.I don't have the statistics to hand, but logically they use the same component from the same manufacturer so yes, however they will apply different deadzones that may see the drift manifest at different times or in different ways.
I was thinking you have a PS5 and are kinda stuck with Dualsense, but that's not the case. Why do you continue to reward Sony shit products instead of getting one of many Hall sticks controllers that are also less expensive?Another Dualsense with stick drift after a year of use.
