It's a good show no doubt, and the kids love it, but it hasn't really scratched that itch for me yet.

Similar to the original in that regard but I see your point. If every episode was like the premiere it would be GOAT level.

Any chance Canadian standards for children weren't happy with the gambling theme?

I honestly think that Disney XD Canada wasn't aware that U.S. Disney XD swapped the airing dates for the two episodes. Or just saw no reason to follow suit. Though I have no idea how strict Canada is about gambling depictions on TV... would they really skip an entire episode (and one introducing a recurring character) to adhere to that policy?

Mr. Peanutbutter Gladstone was beyond insufferable, and I'm a bit miffed that he didn't get a comeuppance, but the rest of the episode was good. FINALLY, a damn adventure, FINALLY, Scrooge is relevant, and the focus on Donald (who is pretty much the heart of the show) was great.

That was a great episode once the luck vampire was unveiled, though I found it a bit boring before that. My issue is that they didn't make Gladstone insufferable enough. Placing him in a casino doesn't do enough to demonstrate just how absurd his luck is. We need to see how the universe contrives itself to provide him food, how he won't even bend over to pick something up because if he was really meant to have it, it would drop into his hand.

One nice detail was that this seems to confirm that Scrooge's dime will indeed be his Number One Dime and not his Lucky Dime, something that Carl Barks would go back and forth on. In some stories, his dime would indeed be the source of his wealth and when deprived of it, would become incredibly unlucky and lose money. Don Rosa really didn't like this idea, and insisted on always portraying Scrooge as a self-made man, no luck involved.

In the stories that Carl Barks had written about Magica Dispell, she is always dead-set on stealing Scrooge's dime, so that she can melt it in the fires of Mount Vesuvius to turn it into a powerful amulet. I'm unsure if that changed in the 80's television series (or the comic book writers that had worked on the Donald Duck/Uncle Scrooge comics since Barks passing), but do you guys think that's going to be the case this time around?

Been slowly watching the episodes. Really liking the slightly new takes on the characters. New Webby is awesome. And Mrs. Beakley vs Donald was great!

However, I'm a little worried about Donald. He's getting like no screen time at all. He missed three episodes in a row. It's almost getting to the point where he's as prominent in the new show as he was in the old one (in other words, occasional guest character).

Maybe that's a consequence of the airing order being shuffled around, but I do hope we see more of him.

I feel the same way about Scrooge. I feel like he's barely been in the show

Scrooge at least can be explained be the weird reshuffling. The creators' intended line-up would have made him more prominent, and he's going to be in almost all of the rest of the season.

Donald? Who knows.

I love that Launchpad had an equally grand adventure all on his own. More importantly, though, I'm so happy we got to see more of Donald Duck getting some focus & going on a heroic tantrum. He wasn't prevalent in the original show, so he's the one I'm most excited to see more of.

As for Gladstone, I'm glad to see him, too. Even though I'm usually fine with voice actors sharing a role, however, something about him sounding like a slightly smarmier Mr. Peanutbutter was something I couldn't get over. I liked the voice & it fits, but it was something I couldn't get over, & this is coming from a guy that binged Bob's Burgers & Archer in the same day once.

The show needs less focus on the kids and humor and more on the adventure aspect.
