Dumbest scene in TV History?

Walt was always trying to use science to get himself out of jams. It's one of those nonsensical and charming things in the show.

Just go with it.

I think what people object to is that Gus would be doing anything other than screaming in agony after having half his face ripped off in an explosion......let alone standing up, walking outside, and straightening his tie.

The show drops all pretense of realism and gains nothing for it other than a quick "gotcha" moment.

I've got to say the big climax of the OA ENDING SPOILERS:
the characters have spent the entire series locked up trying to perfect a synchronised dance that will unleash a power that they will need for some unknown event in the future. What happens is they perform a dance in front of a school shooter to distract him while some random guy hits the shooter with a tray.

I don't think I've ever seen unintentional comedy pulled off so well.

God this scene was terrible. Fuck that whole show.

Gus Fring isn't "realistic" at all. He's like a supervillain. The other characters talk about his mysterious past in hushed voices, he seems to have a sixth sense constantly, and he's always got his eyes on everyone at all times. I think that scene is totally in-character.

I saw this show while browsing through Netflix but never watched it, I just had to google the scene after reading this.

What on earth is OA?

Yeah, that really kinda killed the season for me. I liked the build up to that point, and got what they were going for with that scene, but man o man did they whiff.

I loved that show and thought it had some really interesting themes and good characters but goddamn I was giggling so hard during all that. It sorta tainted the experience but I can't say it ruined it for me overall.

Yep, I've shown this scene to friends without giving them any context and it always gets huge laughs.

Here is the ridiculous scene for those wondering:
The OA - Episode 8 (Season Finale, so be warned that it contains significant spoilers)

I had forgotten about The OA's ending but then again the whole show was pretty fucking dumb, so it kinda just blended together.

Also note, no, this does not come off better within the context of the show, if anything, it makes it even dumber.

Okay, this might have won the thread.

I thought they were going turn into Power Rangers or something.

Technically he's not hiding, he's investigating Dexter's slashed tires. But as he's a hallucination only Dexter can see, that's not much better.

Oh my god. I've seen that gif a thousand times and didn't even think of this. Why is Dexter's DAD inspecting the tires instead of Dexter? Holy shit. It's the gif that keeps on giving.

Hoooooooooly shit. This is so stupid on so many levels. Making a crazy coordinated sudden move like that would have gotten them shot at before they could even stand up.

Yeah the OA was an... Interesting show.

On the other hand I've heard nothing but positive things about The Newsroom? What's up?

I've never seen Dexter and always wanted to. It's on Netflix now. Should I bother?

It's one of those shows that the internet turned on and close to every discussion has become a contest to complain about it the loudest. Yes, the early seasons are better. No, you won't get Ebola from watching the later ones. It you'd be forgiven for thinking you might the way people whine about them.

Season 5 from Game of Thrones is not even very much fun though. It's super depressing and puts our characters through a lot of needless misery, in addition to killing off fan favorites before resolving their character arcs.

Also it's the season when they effectively broke the thread that tied the books and show together by marrying Sansa to Ramsay.

I'm surprised no one has posted the car advertisement in one episode of Breaking Bad. There's a scene where Walt goes out and buys himself and his son new cars, I can't remember the make right now but there was a really cheesy scene where they drive them around to dubstep.

Edit: Just found it, they don't actually drive around, which makes it even more ridiculous. Walt's very excited to be parked in my driveway in a 300C. Besides the editing being super corny, it also felt out of place with the show's tone. You're meant to pity Walt, not think he's a badass. Using his character to sell cars feels contradictory to that. Hopefully they put the money they got from it to good use, it's always stood out to me as the lamest scene in the show.

Was going to post it but Speevy did below.

Yeah so, OA has won the thread. Because if anything is dumber than this, it'd break the internet.

it gets even dumber when you watched the rest of the show, often it is that scenes don't seem to be as awful if you know the context, but in this case it makes it even worse.

Game of thrones

When Yara/Asha the hardened Ironborn pirate flees because of dogs. The cut back to them running to their boats was downright comical.

The Newsroom scene is corny. The it strides right into stupidity. What would be even better is after he tells the pilot about Bin Laden he gives him a lecture about breeching post 9/11 security protocols by leaving the cockpit and the door to the flightdeck open.

I didn't even watch the show, but I saw everyone being baffled by this, so I checked it out nd just had a damn good laugh.
