Dust under the PSP screen. What to do?

Guys, I got my PSP from Wal-Mart last night and it has like 2 decent sized fibers of some sort under the screen. When playing it looks like a line of dead pixels on each side of the ecreen although I can tell it's just illuminated dust. SHould I just deal with it as most systems have this or try to return it this morning for a better unit?

The system is absolutely beautiful BTW. The quality of the screen always blows me away every time I turn it on.

I have the same issue. Begrudgingly, I opted for the EB extended warranty so I'm debating if its worth my time to replace the thing, because the distraction is so minor. Still, I wouldn't mind removing that little dust particle.

I wouldnt settle for something that bothers you. You just dropped 250 on the system, if it bothers you enough to post about it, you shouldnt have to live with it.

I still have one reserved at EB today. If I can't get another from Wal-Mart, I'll just return it and hope for the best at EB. It only shows up when the screen is darkened, but during a movie especially, it gets really annoying. The problem is that it's on both sides. I thought these fabs were supposed to be dust free environments?

Wash it under flowing tap water.

Disclaimer, I'm in no way responsisble for any knackered PSP that results from this action.

Hey if Sony can get away with it!

Too bad it's not like the GBA (original model, I don't think it works with the SP) -- I remember Nintendo had those replacement kits you could get where you could basically pull the cover from the screen, get any dust out, and replace it with a new cover.

you should have no problem returning it at a place like Walmart or Target or kmart. Just tell them the problem, i doubt they'll be as anal as the fuckwads at EB/Gamestop.

Just called Wal-Mart. They have plenty to replace it with the guy said. When I get there I'll try to hook it up before I leave if it's not too crowded or when I get in the car. Does the battery have an initial charge of some sort, long enough to power on? Also can you get a display when powering on with no disc in the drive?
