Just picked up the Batman Begins dvd and although the sound in the dvd menu works fine, the sound in the actual film wont play at all... I put in my harold and kumar dvd and the same thing happens, I've also tried using different programs to watch it but it makes no difference

Anyone know what might be wrong here? I really want to watch batman again dammit! (watching dvds on my computer is my only option at the moment)

Could it be the sound format (like Dolby 2.1 to 5.1 or DTS)? I thought all DVD players were supposed to support Dolby 5.1, so that's probably not the problem, but usually menus are in 2.1 and the movies are 5.1, so it might be something to look into.

FIXED IT!

I just changed the dvd sound setting in media player from surround to stereo and now it works!
