Aside from its horrible lead character, Tokyo Drift is one of the best in the series. It at least integrates drag racing and drifting competitions into the story.
Dunno how they can revive them. Maybe just create a spin-off focusing on Han's life. I'd watch it for sure.

You barely see Giselle die, they could def write something around it. With Han, I'm going to imagine the car morphed with him or something to sustain his life, maybe someone kept him in secret somewhere as he was recovering.

Yes. And then F8 tried to walk that back with "He was a good soldier once upon a time..." Didn't land for me at all. Him and Hobbs had the best fight scene in the movie, but dude killed Han and terrorized them all throughout the last movie
They haven't killed the main bad guy since...F5? Maybe even 4. Like they straight up murder the main henchman to give the audience the illusion of payoff, but the main bad guy sticks around and gets redeemed. They on some Dragon Ball shit.

Hmm, this actually is good context. If this is true, and a bulk of the main cast all turned down spin-offs of their own, in good faith for the rest of their main cast, then yea, this is pretty fucked up.
But ya, this is Hollywood, and if it's not in contract, it's gonna fall apart.

Yeah I could really do without his weird ass character these days. Dude just gives out a few inspirational quotes about family, gets mad, and looks serious. He doesn't feel like a real person and has no chemistry with the cast.

As I said in the other thread, I had a cool idea on how to bring back Han.
Shaw says he needs Hobbs' help to rescue someone that he once wronged during his criminal days and has now been captured by some enemy gang he crossed. They do a bunch of action shit and then, in the third act, they find the captive...Han.
Shaw explains that when he blew up Han's car, he took him hostage and intended to use him to threaten the family, but this gang he crossed (maybe they're connected to Cipher) abducted Han before he could do so and now he wants to get him back so he can make good with Dom and co.
The movie ends with them rescuing Han and sets up for F&F9.

Who doesn't realize that Fast movies are just batshit insane now? While it is, having these "twists" were characters somehow aren't dead do not sound that good either. (Statham's brother being alive on Fast 7? was also lame as I figured he died. Sure he wasn't around much but I felt he didnt need to be around. They could have introduced Statham being at the dude's funeral or something.

I think I'd rather watch a spinoff starring those two Spanish-speaking guys from Fast Five then a Luda/Tyrese solo adventure.
The old guard really needs to realize that the franchise has just outgrown them. I'm here for the family but I simply tolerate the creepy uncles who hit on girls and drink Corona.

While I guess bringing those characters back would be twists, I'm just asking for them back because they added a lot to the movies. I just want Han and Giselle back on the team, chilling out with everyone else and cracking jokes and looking cool. I want to look forward to Han eating a bag of potato chips again.
Having them back seems like a huge improvement to the dynamic of the team to me. We already know they work well. Scott Eastwood in 8 sucked ass.
