I was considering getting up early to head over to this conference--I was RSVPed and everything--and hooooly shit am I glad I didn't. What a pile of crap.

What about Pikmin 3? Didn't somebody promise over and over that it would be there?

I NEED PIKMIN 3, NINTENDO! FOR SHIT'S SAKE!

so i woke up late because i drank a little bit much while playing the too human demo at 6 in the morning, and im like shit i missed the nintendo conference....oversleeping>that sorry fucking excuse for a press conference

Nintendo this is the nail in your coffin for me, will i still buy an occasional Wii game, yes, but all respect ive built up for you from the day the first mario bros. released and my dad brought it home to yesterday is out the window

Iwata and company basically just said fuck you and your industry to every single gamer on the planet, so in return fuck you

Yeah, I think this pretty cemented that Nintendo's E3 conferences are pretty worthless for core gamers for the next few years. It's clear that they're purposely avoiding games that aren't for the casual audience.

As for the doom and gloom about Nintendo completely abandoning the hardcore, come on, we've been through this a zillion times before since DS launched.

This is GAF, of course not. People hype unbelievable shit up here and when it doesn't show they throw their tantrums and dummy spits and wonder why such-and-such company has forsaken them, as if they are the only reliable source of income for said company.

Then there's shit that happens on the fly that people don't expect, and people still cry over it (FFXIII anyone?)
 
That was not what I expected. Wow.

There better be some really great game announcements following this conference like they had last year, or this isn't going to sit well with many people.

Selective hearing much? Iwata said the Mario and Zelda teams were working on new games right now for the Wii. The fact that they aren't ready yet shouldn't come as a fucking surprise.

The degree of overreaction in this thread is comparable only to the degree of the overreaction in the Too Human demo thread. Both sucked, to be sure, but you people treat mediocrity like it killed your fucking dog.
 
Lulz, I'm not selling my Wii. Developers are finally starting to get it, and anyone who gives up now will be missing out on a lot of potentially awesome games. Mad World, The Conduit, de Blob, plus the other unannounced titles from Nintendo's dream team of developers, not to mention a strong likelihood of Pikmin 3...

The conference may have sucked, but E3 is just beginning...
 
I'm so glad I shifted over to the 360 one year ago as my main platform. Because right now, there's not a single Wii game I'm interested in. MAYBE Animal Crossing, but that's a big maybe. It looks freakin identical to the DS version, except the city thingy!

Epic fail Nintendo, epic fail....

I think people have seen it coming but this was really the culmination, the only question is why so many core gamers seem to continue to cling to Nintendo after being repeatedly shown they are out of the equation.

I mean, Reggie is saying Animal Crossing with OMG voice chat (welcome to 2002) is big for the hardcorps. The holiday lineup looks like a joke right now, although I have to believe someone somewhere (NST, Hal, IS) has something in store for the holiday.

Yeah, this is basically how most Nintendo conferences go. People get hyped up, nintendo shows nothing, and people say how they are done w/ nintendo and all that. I remember when they showed Pac Man with connectivity as their big game one year. I also remember how they revealed Smash on the last day of E3. I also remember the major Celda Meltdown. That was awesome.
 
Oooh look at us conduct a symphony by flailing ours arms around in random, jerky, uncoordinated motions.

That was the highlight of the conference.
 
Really curious what else they're going to announce and when. The rest of the current 08 lineup consists of Mario Baseball, Wario, Animal Crossing, and Wii Music. That's it for 5 months.

Animal Crossing is hardcore or at least I played it hardcore. I spent over $300 on the GCN version. Damn cards.

I know what you mean though. This conference was pretty much a casualfest.

Why'd you list the separate News, Mega, and Negaton sections? Spore DS was a MegaTon to me. I don't care about DS Voice Chat. I have a cell phone with bluetooth and an internet phone for that. Just list the info without interpretations please.

YOu hit it. They know they don't need it. Hardcores are also early adopters - they blew their load all over our faces with the big Mario Releases & Zelda - they don't need us now....
