E3 2014 | Nintendo Treehouse Live @ E3 [ it's over :( ]

I like how when Nintendo finally get around to making a shooter, it's better than 99% of shooters out there. Maybe that Miyamoto quote where he basically said he could make a better Halo whenever he felt like it is actually right lol.
 
Making 3rd person shooter action appropriate for all ages, the swimming in the ink mechanic, the adorable squids...I look forward to more from those talented young game developers of Splatoon that were shown during the Digital Event.
 
this treehouse has sold me on splatoon. Honestly my wife will play this with me.

I hope they have a capture the flag mode. having a buddy lay down ink to swim in while trying to get a flag back could be epic
 
Is splatoon going to be Nintendos TF2? Can it be a killer app like Brain Age and Wii Sports? It's so different than anything Nintendo has done and extremely different than what anyone in the industry has done
 
They're sharing some advanced techniques now at least.

I'm imagining a Capture The Flag sort of mode, the hook being that the flag can only travel through the ink of the team that currently has it.

I love the super jump, it looks so cool when you leap into enemy territory!
This is why the GAF tourney's are going to rock!
Also, there actually are some male characters as far as I can tell.
 
Squid hopping / ink hopping is the new Vanquish power slide best new game play mechanic of the year. I wouldn't be surprised that this "inspires" other developers to adopt a similar mechanic
