Is it just me, or are these totals a little on the high end considering the size of DS's install base? I mean it's only at ~1.3m..

I guess I'm more surprised at wario since i guess a lot of people who bought a DS would get mario64 - wario didn't come out at launch, did it?

it did.

Wow, Mawaru has been royally pwned by Sawaru, on a much smaller userbase too. So much for GT4 shipping 1 mil in 2 days :lol

Huh? Does Sony have some brand new direct to customer service available where a Sony representative pesonally delivers each copy of GT4?!

Ummm do you have shipping confused with selling?

Wow. Those numbers for GT4 are huge, not suprising though.

Perhaps I missed it but did they re-release Sawaru with the fixes in the game? If Nintendo has fixed the previous problem I'm very suprised in their quick turn-around, if not, I'm more impressed that people are still buying the game despite knowing of the problems.

GT4 doing great.

overall gap is bigger however.

Mario Party 6 doing great. I wonder how the doubters feel?

They put out a press release today saying GT4 shipped 1 million a day faster than GT3 did. It only sold about half those shipments in that two day period, so what was the point? I'm not saying it's selling badly, I'm just saying the press release was blatantly unwarranted.

That would put the DS over the 1.4 million promised by the end of 2004, while leaving the PSP about 40k below the 500k Sony promised.

Kutaragi said they have shipped 510.000 PSP in December.
I'm waiting for Media Create numbers.

PS2 numbers are also really impressive.
I think the PR 'We'have reached 80 millions" from Sony will not wait long to arrive.

About one half would be 43 percent. 66 percent is about 3/4. :D Press releases are usually unwarranted and just used to tute your own horn. GT4 sold more in its first week than GT3.

5 Metal Gear Solid 3 84,000 (694,000)

Nice, and the Media Create numbers are probably higher. MGS is one of the few series from last gen that has managed to sustain its sales.

Tales Of Rebirth 49,000 (493,000)

What happened here? This is a big drop from the last two Tales games.

Everybody's Golf Portable 47,000 (178,000)

Not bad, that's almost 40% attach rate.

Dynasty Warriors 47,000 (137,000)

Is that the PSP version? If so, then not bad.

Ridge Racers (150,000)

Glad to see RR doing well. And that Piposaru game is another PSP game, no?

Sony is owning Nintendo. How can anyone look at the hardware numbers and not arrive at that conclusion? Cube is anemic as usual, showing how utterly irrelevant Nintendo has become in the console market. While their handheld numbers are strong, it's clear that Sony is gaining ground, a reality evinced by this sales report. It's hilarious to observe Nintendo fans gloat over the LAUNCH numbers of the DS (WOW -- like, I'm shocked), while overlooking the laughably pathetic performance of the Cube.

With console and handheld numbers combined, Sony is outselling Nintendo. Who would have imagined this a year ago?

"What happened here? This is a big drop from the last two Tales games."

It's definetly a sizeable downfall. It hasn't even managed to outsell ToD2's first week numbers.

BTW clean your PM box.

I wish Sony would get their act together and iron out their supply problems.

Solid: sorry about, I just emptied my inbox.

Where were you and your amusing posts when DS sold 396,674 and PSP sold 107,217 last week?

Funny how that works. Did you even see the numbers last week? Jesus christ.

I'm sure the PS2 has outsold GC + GBA combined before?

The gap closes between the handhelds for one week and you jump to that wonderfully ignorant conclusion? :lol
Let's wait a little while before we conclude that the gap is CLOSING IN ON NINTENDO! ITS LIKE THE TRASH COMPACTOR IN STAR WARS, ONLY NINTENDO IS LUKE AND SONY IS THE CLOSING WALLS.

PS2 196k
GC 32k
GBASP 79k
PSP 111k
DS 173k

PSP is holding steady while DS is seeing a huge drop-off.

Is Sony going to continue shipping ~100k even after December? It will be interesting to see if PSP will overtake DS (in weekly sales) after the Christmas boom.

I noticed that Enterbrain's numbers are anywhere from 60-90% of Media-Create's stats most of the time. Do they track a lot less?

DS is actually really hard to get hold of - both hardware and software. GC software is also not so well stocked, aside from the 1st party games - presumably stores didn't order in enough.

It's not a drop-off in demand, though. Just supply.

Get the motherfucker some crack, he obviously hasn't had enough.

Btw, it's all about software sales acutally and Nintendo still pwns Sony in that regard. Afterall the hardware doesn't make the money, the software does. Stop being delusional

The gap between the PSP and DS is closing, while the Cube remains unfailingly pitiful in its performance. That's why I said Sony is owning Nintendo. It's true.

It's not ALL about the software sales... just mostly about the software sales........at the beginning you still have to get the systems out the door.

last week Enterbrain reported the cube at 30-50k.. but MC reported the Cube at 110k I think

so in other words wait for media create numbers

What about last week, when the DS outsold the PSP 4:1?

Ummm, this is exactly what people were saying about the PSP supply problems at launch, but the Ninbots would have none of it, it was obvious the PSP was "bombing."

Why is there such a large gap between Enterbrain and Media Create?

Enterbrain last week:
DS -- 252,000
PS2 -- 145,000
GBASP -- 111,000
PSP -- 92,000
GC -- 54,000

Media Create last week:
DS -- 396,674
GBASP -- 190,268
PS2 -- 188,134
GC -- 108,311
PSP -- 107,217

Yeah. DS was not selling 'at all' either. PSP was winning! :lol

Seriously, as of right now, the DS has over a million unit gap over the PSP and it's growing every week. The PSP is carving a nice niche for itself, sure, but in no way shape or form "is closing" in on the DS.
:lol

Don't mind XS+, he appears to be a moron.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to just be waiting till Media Create before making such rash comments as XS. :lol I expect PSP to total up to the 510k shipped, DS will have a lower sales number than last week definitely, but it's going to be due to the fact that it's sold out. I'll be very surprised if the last of the 1.4 million units are NOT sold in that last week. Ironically, I wish the people here who were crying about the DS not being a sell out guaranteed failure were here.
