Yeah, there's been like 10 new Patrons since I went so sleep last night, so maybe start the stream with the new ones, then finish with the ones that pledged during the stream? I'd give priority to those over the Twitch subs too.

Definitely going to try to work them in to group streams. I don't know if I can capture a full week though. Not only are there a ton just since I went to bed, but the Patreon system doesn't seem to be able to handle going too far back. The App crashes, and it stops loading after a while in my desktop browser.

Whole concert was great, the highlight for me was Kyle's Joey song. Dude is so creative/talented.

Shame he doesn't have his own show where he speaks on subjects he's passionate about then ends with creative/funny bits :(

Co-sign. Bosman deserves more shine.

Brad w/ the guitar hangin on his wall and not even performing. C'mon son

Damiani currently giving a lot of good insight on lots of EZA workings on the stream right now, explaining a lot of things from his perspective. I recommend people checking out the archive for it later that aren't seeing it live.

The 12 hour stream was one of the best unedited things they've done so far. So many highlights, Sophie tricks, German Efficiency's speech, the dance, Mario Party 2, Don't Skip, the surprise Don's Design Lab, Bloodworth being crazy, Quiplash. Everything I wished for.

Best was Damiani's Zelda playthrough: he was unstoppable but also so jolly and happy, a pleasure to watch!

The concert was nice too, even though I enjoyed the stream more. I particularly loved Ian singing, he's such an honest soul, I wish more people were like him.

Yep. He's on fire. I'm really enjoying the stream.

i think he probably feel pressured to put out a weekly show backed by patreon money, and as he always says he's never happy with the thing he produce. not putting words into his mouth but if that's the case i understand him. i think eza would love to have a weekly final bosman heir tho.

I'll have to give that a watch when I have time as I'm definitely interested. Thanks for the information!

Just to give more context to what he talked about.
Lots about what happened with Game Sleuth and his current thoughts/feelings on it. About the whole editing situation in EZA. Convention plans and his perspective on the different considerations that have to be made when deciding where to put EZA resources on content/projects etc and that finding the balance can be pretty hard on that front. Might have forgotten something else.

And that does it for my special anniversary celebration launch schedule for these Best of videos.

24 days
22 videos
500+ hours of footage (narrowed down to 30 hours of footage, further narrowed and edited down to a total run time of just over 4 hours, across 22 videos)
132 hours of sifting through footage + editing (does not include the time spent on videos that I would watch normally/all the way through at regular speed like all the produced shows that are put on the main EZA channel and certain streams once in a while)

zero games played, zero shows watched, 1 movie watched (due to a forced break as a result of a power outage, LOL). It was everything EZA throughout the whole month.

Wow, thanks. Yeah, I love your vids. It's impossible to watch hours upon hours of streams. So getting the best bits is pretty awesome.

Absolutely loved these and I watched them all. Rarely have the time to watch their streams, so these were awesome to have. Really high quality as well.

Amazing work! I've enjoyed watching them even when I've seen most of the content. They're fun recaps!

I'm also glad the EZA crew loves your work

some of those comments on the podcast video, yeesh

Yeah, casual sexism at its finest. Some people want gaming to just be a boys only club and will bend over backwards to justify it.

What's worse is the video can't be searched on those terms/subjects so these people exist within the community.

The stream was a blast, awesome to see them hit $43k but now it just has to hold at the end of the month.

Somewhere in the 12 hours of streaming yesterday I managed to platinum Nier Automata (though I had the stream muted while going for endings and side quests) and then after it finished, I caught up on the parts I'd muted while wrapping up the last archives and pieces of unit info I needed to 100% the game. What an incredible game from start to finish.

As an aside, the unit info listed on the Nier Automata wiki is wrong. The Standard Unit Multi-leg Medium Model doesn't exist, I spent like 30 minutes looking for it and the one I was missing turned out to be related to ending Y.

Oh and Hasney, I did end up "cheating" and buying a couple of trophies. Nothing serious, just the two dumbest ones: (the most minor of trophy spoilers)
10x 2B upskirts and spend an hour with 9S in his underwear. I was happy to avoid the upskirts because it's kinda creepy but I skipped the 9S one too because it seemed like a waste of time.

Ok, so is this...

... the Allies testing the water for the film podcast? Or is it the product of a very busy Anniversary week and them only really having time to do something of this nature?

I'm only asking because the only thing that worried me about the new shows (which I mentioned earlier in the thread) was the possibility of the shows stepping on each other's toes and producing similar/identical content to each other.

Huber's used his show as a platform for discussions before

May as well strike while the iron's hot

Plus, the podcast isn't about specific films, seems to be overall themes in a book club format

I love your videos I could see you improving and learning as you created more and more videos. A couple ideas/suggestions I have for the future would be to try to stick to only content that was released in a given week from here on out. This will make it easier to watch the videos chronologically and give a better feel for how easy allies will grow over the next year.

The other one I've got is to consider leaving out the tabletop escapades stuff since not everyone is caught up on it and some people want to avoid spoilers. I just skip over those parts since I'm not caught up either lol so this might just be me being whiny.

I can't wait to see more videos in the future. I tend to have seen a lot of the clips already but I still like watching them again or seeing the video that goes along with the podcasts I listen to at work.

Thank you!

Holy fuck, those Youtube comments for the Podcast are disgusting. Not surprising at all, but that shit gets me so angry. Thank you Damiani for speaking up about this. All those people are so awful.

I'd like some feedback on the best of videos. The last two vids, rather than include everything together (like Kyle's Pryzm playthrough and the I Play By Myself), I divided them into parts and put other clips in between. Would you prefer having them be lumped together like I was doing before, or spread out like I did with these two videos?

Thanks for the feedback.

Honestly, most of the improvement you're seeing is me just getting back to my normal editing/spending more and more time on editing them as I went on. I had honestly initially planned for this to not be all that well edited, just a few clips thrown in there. But really couldn't bring myself to do a sloppy job and became more and more critical of myself as time was going on, then finally deciding to go all in and just edit properly. (I don't know if you saw, but my initial thumbnails for the vids were pretty sloppily thrown together as well)

Regarding spoilers, I generally tend to avoid them, especially story based, and especially in the main best of video. Round Two videos may have some spoilers, but yeah, one of the purposes of these vids is to attract folks that are not into certain series towards them, and if a clip is really, really good, then I may just choose to include it. There have been a lot of TTE clips that I initially singled out and didn't include due to spoilers. Also another example, not TTE, but Ben's Nier Automata stream had a great moment when he reached an ending, but again, for spoiler purposes, I didn't include it.

As for chronological order, yeah, the only reason the best of and round two videos weren't aligned was because I originally didn't have any plans for the round two videos. Intended on just doing the one, best of video.

Going forward it should be pretty chronological if you're manually following my uploaded vids, but if you haven't checked it out, I've been consistently updating a playlist for chronological viewing purposes. The only non-chronological entries that may show up in my upload feed are if I end up doing 2016's weeks in my free time. Not willing to set a schedule for those. If it were my job then that'd be something different, but these are ones I'll be doing at my own pace. Could end up releasing once a week, or once every two weeks, or once a month depending on how much time I was able to put aside.

For my own sanity's sake though, I'll just be sticking to the current weeks for a little while, and catch up on my gaming, tv shows, and movies.

Also, need to figure out a release schedule for these vids. I download form twitch and use those files for quality purposes, and this last week was busy for them so they didn't actually put up most of the shows/streams on YT until a day before I released my best of video for that week. I'm wondering if I should maybe wait a week or so to release the video to lessen the chances of these best of videos having an impact on some of the viewcounts for their actual vids.

Welp, as luck would have it I pre-ordered MLB 17 this afternoon (for full price) hoping the preload would start.

...Annnnddd just checked my email and I have a code for 20% off PSN that expires 3/31. I'm out of games to buy and it doesn't work for PS+ or pre-orders, just basically games that are out right now. Hopefully one of you guys can use it. The code is 2392MHE93A. Enjoy!

Just watched the two new Don's Design Lab episodes and HNNNGHHH THEY'RE SO GOOD!

I wish Don would start this series up again. I'm crossing my fingers for Don going nuts with Dreams!

Have been away for awhile.

I know their anniversary was recently. But I am surprised they somehow spiked from 38kish to 43k.

How did that happen?

Best Of Easy Allies - Round Two - 2017-11 - I Play By Myself

Yessssss, this one's like 60% Gundam stream. I laughed so hard during the Cornhole conversation when Ben asked Kyle if he hated it because of the name. Was bummed it didn't make it into the official week 11 video, glad all that stuff got its due here :)

So I assume Frame Trap and Nintendocast will be on different weeks. Has Damiani mentioned what weekday it will be popping?

I think he said Sunday nights for Patrons and either Tuesday or Wednesday at noon for non-patrons, can't remember which day.

The concert was sooooo funny, loved it. I think my personal highlights were Hey Joey and Ian's band. Do they have a name I can look up? Tbh I'd love to find them just to hear their normal stuff, Ian's really talented.

Wow man, that's impressive!

Hope you keep working on these (the 12hrs marathon alone must be a goldmine of clips), but please go back enjoying non-Eza related stuff lol

I'm watching the show right now and it's really jolly. I'm not that much into the reenactments, but I'm still smiling almost all the way through. It's weird, it's goofy, sometimes a little cringy and it got things I don't necessarily get (like the Earthbound thing), but I like it nonetheless. Damiani's fairytale is one of my favorites so far, but it's all very close, really. I love the shadow drop of Don's Design Lab in the middle of it. It's all just so much fun.

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect when they announced the "concert" and Im still not sure that it was a good idea for a first year anniversary, but I love the fact that they created something special and that it exists now.

e: It is INSANE how good Ian is. It BLOWS my mind.

e2: And goddamn, the live bet was such a good idea!

I prefer parts being spread out throughout the video. Helps keeping the content feel fresh, and makes sure nothing overstays its welcome. I think this is true especially when there's a build up to something, like Pryzm in the recent video, or the Tetris L piece bit in one of the earlier ones.

Oh man, the 12 hour group stream is already up on YouTube.

Whoever made this happen THANKS SO MUCH.

House sitting for my parents this weekend with fuck all to do. This will make the time fly by.

Two ideas for shows ;P

Ben has to tackle all the most hair-tearing games from yesteryear to completion. Thinking of your Battletoads stream there Ben!

Storytime with Kyle. I still want to know the complete ending to Gaston, the beast, the clock and the berries as I think your Tetris run ended before finishing it. There are a tonne of other ones that had me captivated during your streams.

Great podcast but sad to see many of the YouTube comment reactions. Obviously as they grow we're going to see less people that care about love and respect and I'm going to miss that aspect of a tight knit community. And don't get me wrong it's wonderful that the allies are growing and getting so much more funding and content going, I just wish that we wouldn't have to see any toxicity come with it.

That is sad to read. I have given up reading comments on EZA videos since seeing the poison thrown at Damiani regarding his Zelda review and coverage. Even the most pleasant places can be infested with mouldy poisonous spores...

EZA is a place to go to to get away from all the **** in the world and to watch / listen to people talking about and enjoying games and not to be reminded of bloody idiots.

The Tabletop and Fiasconauts reenactments were both actually really fun. I noticed Kyle actually memorized his lines for smooth lip sync. It's like everyone else was animated by Bioware and Kyle was animated by Naughty Dog.

also HEY JOEY is my jam.

Time to go back and listen to Battle of the Bands.

Is there a rough timestamp of when he speaks about this, or is he saying stuff throughout the entirety of the stream?
