To me I read it as bonus bits...the show. Like the whole battle of the bands arc

Me too, and that's awesome. I've been wanting some more funny scripted skits or shows from eza for a while, like a battle of the bands or the buttons e3 sagas. Ian has done some good stuff on ez update a few times, but a whole series from Kyle sounds great, I'm really excited.

Hope this draws a lot of new patrons, should have offered early access/sneak peaks to 1 or 5 dollar patrons (or did he? I haven't had chance to watch the vid).

Also 45k would have been a better target (because I assume we'll sail over the target because it's Kyle and i selfishly want trailer score back in time for e3).

Oh and Kyle should use his monthly tweet to promote this.

I need clarification about the "catches the other peeking" rule. What classifies as "peeking"? If both athletes rise their heads out of their boxes, are they both peeking? Who loses?

I need this sport to be taken seriously.

Honestly, it seems like you don't want to be the first one to peek because you'll be the one that gets caught when the other emerges. Then again, if you can get your four seconds in at the start, it's a quick match. It really does become a waiting game. The boxes would have to be soundproof.

OMG Box Peek sounds amazing...

I really want to up my pledge, but I think I'll hold for E3 when the big push usually comes, so I can help more.

Just imagine all the ridiculous bits happening inside the box before deciding to peek, just like a yugioh talk before putting the most basic card

I would assume the moment the referee or the camera recording takes note of the eyes making contact with the opponent's box, from that moment, if the opponent raises and also peeks, the player loses

Seems like the broken strategy would just be to go for short peeks every 3 seconds. You only have to catch them once. Of course you could get caught, but it seems like it's about as good as you can do. This strategy vs itself would basically be a toss up.

I know it must be a bit tiring to constantly hear about The Final Bosman and a potential successor, but hearing about Box Peek just made me want to say that I sure would be very okay with funding a TFB successor in the same way... making it a seasonal show with set amounts of episodes and seasonal stretch goals to fund it. I'm totally ok with that idea, even if it means the show isn't as much about the news and more about evergreen topics. In fact, I find that MOST of the original TFB episodes were pretty evergreen in nature, despite often being about the news of the week. Points made are still valid today, and the very best episodes are the ones that don't tend to rely specifically on news of the week. I don't know how the rest of the community feels, but I'd be totally fine with funding chunks of episodes of TFB, and I would most definitely up my pledge for it. No question.

Did you see why he doesn't want to do it in the Q&A a couple of months back? He doesn't want to do something comparable that is worse and especially ask for people to fund it if he's not happy with it. It's likely to never happen unless another company backs him OR they get the studio and they can work out the budget where he feels comfortable.

What would be interesting is if you are allowed to peek without lifting the lid of your box. Like having side holes or mirrors. Maybe you can only "get" someone peeking if the other person doesn't notice you looking back, so two people looking straight at each other are just "neutral".

Hmmmm.... there is much potential in this.

So about Box Peek. Not really that interested or excited about it personally. That being said, I'm happy that Kyle is so excited and that he found something of his own to create. I'll definitely give this a shot if and when the first ep airs. Maybe I'll be hooked immediately =) It's a novel idea. Good luck Kyle!

This is me, aswell.

He's lost his marbles, everyone, me as well, ask him for the Final Bosman 2 and he pitches a puppet show about peeking out of boxes.

Ahahahahah

I'm 100% behind this, or anything else he'll ever do, I'm already chuckling by thinking about it. Can't up my pledge though.

I'd be super excited for a creative project by any of the Allies, as I feel they each have something special within them that's worth sharing, but Kyle is one of the guys I resonate most with. I'm looking forward to seeing his unique brand of goofiness and storytelling being on showcase with this new show.

As much as I am endeared by sincere Bosman, I'll be the "meanie". I don't like the pitch at all. It sounds like something I only wouldn't mind seeing at the end of an episode of anything else. The most I can say is that it's certainly an idea I'd only hear from Kyle Bosman.

On the brighter side, it's not like there's a giant goal for it and it is set to be a one-time project. I'll still give it a try.

Having it at the end of group stream nights like he said in the video sounds like a great idea.

Liking everything about this, he has already proven via the bonus bits in Final Bosman that he can make things like this entertaining.

I do wish he'd put more effort into this pitch video though, lol. Right now he does slightly look like a crazy person just rambling away...at least have better lighting, color correct the video and make himself more presentable.

It's pretty hilarious that Kyle, after a year + of people begging for a Final Bosman'ish show, announces a PUPPET show that:

-Is not promoted on EZA or anyones twitter/social media.
-The announcement is not public on youtube, only for existing Patreon subscribers.
-Has seemingly very little to do with videogames.
-Revolves around a strange game that he just created and has about 8 seconds of test footage of.
-And that will be seemingly "funded" by tonight.

I'm thrilled we're getting something new from Kyle. Hopefully this response inspires him to keep trying new things going forward.

I'm now imagining one player giving himself a hype speech inside his box while the other player just wins the game.

It just seems like a goofy bit show, which is fine, as we essentially already get the 'serious' game talk part of Final Bosman in the various podcasts.

it would be just hilarious to see one player over explaining a rule while the opponent is just staring the box.

I like the sound of the new series. It's scripted (and maybe more produced) content that some people have been clamouring for. Maybe not quite what they're asking for but a step in the right direction. If this takes off it might be an idea for them to trial out more produced short term shows in this manner?

Was going to up my pledge for any E3 stuff they had planned. Might just do it sooner now.

A "The Final Bosman" successor is Kyle's ace in the hole. If he ever goes solo, launching a Patreon with that will give him a strong start.

Right now it's building anticipation, which is important for reinventing a beloved dormant brand.

Brandon won't be (much) on this year's E3 streams. Said it on the Gundam stream just know. Will hang out more on show floor and make connections and whatnot. Understandable, but still a bit of a huge bummer.

Jones just said he probably won't be on any stream during E3. Nooo. NOOOOOO.

Shame, but it's not like they don't have too many people to fill the streams anyway (if the setup is the same as last year that is). 4-5 people on desk with rest on the backround.

I just hope they actually enjoy the show floor this year with the extra public attendence. At least the Yakuza Kiwami booth shouldn't be empthy lol.

What if EA plays the same trailer at multiple press conferences again!? Whos going to make fun of them!?
Probably Ben, Ian, Bosman, Huber and Brad

He's gonna jump ship to Giant Bomb!

Only joking. But it would be neat to see him appear on one of their nightly talk shows during E3.

Brand Manager rises above any E3 bets by backdoor shady deals-ing E3 itself. He's too powerful.

Yeah, there's probably still too many people to all be on stream anyway, although I do like Brandon's slightly more down to earth take on things and he always has an interesting point of view on PR/trailers.
