For those not in the know, Easy Allies is a group of video game journalists/enthusiats who worked for Game Trailers when it was shut down, group which includes Kyle Bosman of "The Final Bosman" fame and Brandon Jones, the "voice" of Game Trailers among others. They have a Patreon, a site, a Twitch and Youtube channel and they're definitely into betting, oft ending up with hilarious results and payoffs.
Here's the link to the Switch event betting special: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYlj4rAjeog
If you want to have a look at past betting specials, they have a playlist.
Also, here's a list of bets, in case you wanna bet along (courtesy of Tregard):
Simple Bets:
- Will the word "Metroid" be spoken?
- Will Wario reveal himself?
- Will the phrase "You're a kid now, you're a squid now" reveal itself?
- Will Wave Race be shown in any form?
- Will Waluigi speak? (This includes grunts, laughs, etc.)
- Will Link reveal HERSELF?
Dirty Bets:
- How many Rupees will we see?
- How many Fire Flowers will appear?
- How many Switch games shown will star Mario?
- (The Elyse Special) How many Double Jumps?
- How many Switch clicks will we hear during the presentation?
- How many times will the phrase "Make the Switch" be said?
Double. Down. on. Don.:
- How many times will a word be spoken out loud that rhymes with the word "Switch"?
FINAL BETS:
- What will be the US retail price of the Switch (Price of lowest SKU)
RULES:
There are 4 rounds and 6 contestants, who prepared 2 sealed bets each beforehand.
Simple bets - Each contestant chooses someone else's bet (without knowing what's inside) and everyone but him and the bet creator has to bet on it (yes or no answer, worth 1 point).
Dirty bets - Each contestant chooses someone else's bet (without knowing what's inside), then chooses one other contestant that has to bet on it (numerical answer), and then decides if that bet is too high or too low (whoever is correct gets 2 points).
Double down on Don - Everyone bets on Don's bet (closest gets 3 points).
Final bets - Everyone bets on the actual retail price of the Switch (closest gets more points, furthest loses more points).
(thanks Bosman for making the rules so easy -_-)
STAKES:
The winner gets to compete for the title (and the Slusser Cup) on the E3 betting special. The losers will have to create a shoebox-sized diorama on a particular theme, decided by the winner.
