Yeah right. $1000 :lol

$50 for some games, more money for others. Pretty much what reasonable people have been execting.
EB stores forced a $500 "X-Treme Xbox Bundle" at launch in 2001. They will definitely do it again this time.Flo_Evans said:they usually only force bundling online.

Due to the size and weight of this bundle you will be charged an additional $10 shipping and handling fee.
Grizzlyjin said:Not only that, but the PSP launch as well. I clearly remember EBgames forcing bundle in store for that as well. Hell, even the store I work at (KB Toys) had a forced bundle package for the PSP. You had to buy a minimum of three games to purchase the system.

Mrbob said:Why is everyone surprised EB is gouging with launch packages? Gamestop will do the same thing. This is how they make their money at launch.
Just go to Wal Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City on launch day and get a system. The mass market merchants won't do forced bundles. Buy what you want. CHOICE.
If Gamestop isn't forcing bundles why rush to a store like Target (that may or may not sell out) when I have to work a ten hour shift and won't be able to go until after work... I put fifty dollars down and I can stroll in there at my convinience and know that there is a system there waiting for me to pick it up.belgurdo said:Do you people only shop at specialty stores or something? Both Best Buy and Circuit City were doing budles for Psp...Mrbob said:Why is everyone surprised EB is gouging with launch packages? Gamestop will do the same thing. This is how they make their money at launch.

Gamestop is the same thing as EBGames now. The bundles are coming from them too, I'd imagine.Ryck said:Gamestop said they aren't doing bundles go buy one ( or preorder one) there.

I work next door to one I go in there from time to time to ask , The manager is insured with me so I know him pretty well ( he's not a flakey fanboy type) and he has assured me that they aren't doing bundles with preorders...border said:Gamestop is the same thing as EBGames now. I've heard enough horror stories about shit like that from 2 friends who desperately wanted a PS2 at launch. I'll take my chances with the bundle and sell off garbage like DOA4,I can live with Perfect Dark,PGR3,and Kameo,I just wish Oblivion were being bundled, but oh well.
aparisi2274 said:I'm in for the $700 bundle. I mean I already have $225 down on it... Plus if there are games I dont want, I can return them for games I do want...
Since this is my first XB system, perhaps get Halo 2 and see what all the fuss is about.
SuperPac said:The 360 isn't the PS2, though. This launch is not going to be anywhere near as insane as that. The PS2 launch was an anomaly. It was that crazy only because the thing played DVDs too that so many people were interested in it. That roped in loads of people who weren't normally early adopters. The 360 has no such mainstream feature that is going to increase those people's frothing demand.
Apharmd Battler said:I'm in but damn they just took out most of my gaming crew. Who the hell has $700 laying around in less than 3 months?! Have they not taken a look at current gas prices. If this bundle isn't optional EB games just forced out a lot of customers. I hate how they force you to take 4 games, especially when the XBox launch was 3. If I were a 3rd party developer I'd be hopping @$$ mad.
If I found out that Elderscrolls: Oblivion is a launch game then I'm tkaing my $700 to buy round trip tickets to EB Games corporate and beat down the entire marleting department. They are obviously sniffing paint and could use the reality check. :lol
