Around November, 2004, several students got together to brainstorm a concept for a total conversion of Valve's Half-Life 2 . After several days of brainstorming, the concept for Eclipse was born.

In January of 2005, a group of Guildhall students composed of programmers, artists, and level designers were put together and formed what is now CelTech Studios. It was then that CelTech Studios made the commitment to produce the highest quality game possible in the short amount of time they had - five months. What emerged in late May was a game that is both stunningly beautiful and addictive to play.

Eclipse is a third-person total conversion of Valve's Half Life 2 . You play as a young Sorceress named Violet whose father went missing five years back. After learning the secrets of Telekinesis, you are teleported into Auld-Haven, a lush and fertile land where Violet grew up. Your objective is to return to Violet's home where she last saw her father years ago and dig up any clues to his whereabouts. In the broken down tower of her home you discover a journal left by her father. The journal unlocks a handful of secrets that ultimately leads you on a quest to find the ancient teleportation device - the Standing Stones.

anyone try this one yet? worth downloading? i didnt see a topic so...

i can guess the comments some of those screens will bring though.

Just downloaded the video. Hot damn, the game looks great; not to mention I had no idea the Half-Life 2 engine could do that!

Wow, go for them - that looks great!

Way way typical and cliche' but hell ---- if it proves anything it's that most of the tripe/typical shit on store-shelves today should look 10times better than they do.

HL2 is the gift that just keeps on giving. For $55, I have one stellar single player and 2 amazing multiplayer games using the Source Engine, Valve's entire back catalog, and two excellent mods (this one and the upcoming Goldeney Source).

I just beat it in 20 min. Simple game, very well done though save for a few things such as the jumping.
