Edge has been the most accurate source pre-reveal of both PS4/Xbone, why start doubting them now? Because you dont like what they find and publish?
Never really trusted them to begin with.

true.If you want some guys fired for breaking NDAs, sure.
Go ahead and demand EDGE for it.
Or better yet, ask some GAFers who are in-the-know to spill the names.
Don't say stupid things when you know full well why these guys are anonymous.
Is this early gen and late gen GT6 compared together?
Isnt it more 1.3?
I am questuoining Edge's article specifically. Not what we've heard in general. If they say 50% faster in an article they need something concrete to back it up.
I could say the same about the giant PS4 circlejerk going on around here.Based on nothing but illogical, opinionated, biased grade-a bullshit. Does that bullshit come in honey flavor?
Microsoft's implementation is much more focused and designed specifically for gaming applications. It builds off of technology that was originally developed to support Halo 4. The innovation here isn't just the Windows Azure infrastructure (which is only really rivaled by Google's cloud infrastructure), but also in the tools that let developers use it with a minimum of fuss.Yeah, I suppose using computers in a server farm to free up (low-end) AI logic from the host hardware is something only Microsoft can do. Guess IBM's never done it, except they have for decades. Guess Google isn't doing it, except they are. Guess Apple can't do it, except they have been. Nope, server tech is patented to Microsoft :rollseyes
Actually no. The triple-OS architecture is quite significant; it is what makes Xbox One's multitasking as seamless and fast as it is. We haven't seen anything on PS4 that compares (yet.)And...."software architecture"? You're just jesting at this point, surely...
Neither PS4 nor Xbox One are merely "games" machines. They are expected to serve as fully-fledged entertainment hubs for several years. From what I've seen, Xbox One is better-designed for that.Your "experience" has and always will come down to the games you're playing. You doing this fanboy console trip is doing yourself zero favors and shows how badly you've been damaged by that thinking. If you came out and said XBO is going to be better b/c it has more of the games you want, okay. At least that's an opinion that can be respected. Trying to turn biased opinions into outright facts however is shameless.
So some devs are actually going to try and downgrade the ps4 version for "political" reasons. Bullshit.
Based on this and other articles, it seems clear to me that the PS4 will have better graphics than Xbox One going into the next generation. And thats fine.
But it also seems clear that Xbox One will have better everything else than PS4. Specifically, better audio, better multiplayer, better gameplay, and an all-around better gaming experience.
It will have better audio thanks to a dedicated APU (audio processing unit), better multiplayer and gameplay thanks to cloud-based AI, and an all-around better gaming experience thanks to the software architecture and Kinect.
Sony can have the better graphics bragging rights. Im fine with having a better experience all-around, even if it means slightly inferior graphics.

What's wrong with questioning Edge?
This last gen, there was plenty of talk about titles on both platforms being pulled back to meet in the middle.
Except we're not talking that monumental of a power difference, a generational one. It's a difference, but both systems will look "next-gen" whereas Wii U looks on par (maybe a bit better) than current gen.

Probably going to respond with something about cloud AI BS. I can agree with some of his/her other points, but this one is just dumb. How does that let the xbone have better gameplay

Triple reinforced (A) buttons. How does that let the xbone have better gameplay
that said you totally missed his point.
1.31tf is just GPU, 1.5tf is with CPU in Xbone
Just like PS4 GPU is 1.84tf and 2tf with CPU.
Hmm, most accurate? I don't think that's quite true. Also I think you took my point as me going against EDGE in this case, I don't think they are wrong here I was just giving the reason I dislike anonymous sources for big articles like this.
I'm still fine with the used games thing, although I don't think it's true. Always online is fine by me too.
Rumor still.
I'd also still buy both as intended.
Concrete is in the specs - there is nothing more to showcase in terms of how the architectures differ. Real world performance will tell the complete story but I don't understand why you are asking for clarity to something that cannot be clarified. If you don't understand that the larger number is better in a direct architecture comparison that has more to do with your ability to understand than it does lack of explanation.I am questuoining Edge's article specifically. Such as?
"without optimisation for either console"
Of course the console with the greater raw power will do better without optimisation. That's why optimisation exists...
Last-gen the 360 pretty much only supported Dolby Digital output, while multiplatform games on the PS3 had DTS, 5.1 LPCM and 7.1 LPCM support. Nobody gave a shit. :lol Now it's all about the mythical ultra-powerful, does-everything audio processor on the xbone huh? I'll laugh my ass off if Digital Foundry starts bringing that shit up in their next-gen face-offs.
Oh wow hahaha. Exposed!
UnDunn said:I'd just like to remind everyone that we do not know what CPU or GPU is in either console. We simply don't. There has been lots of unsourced speculation, and somewhere along the line the speculation somehow became fact.
But neither console manufacturer has actually given any real performance specs. The best we have is Microsoft confirming the clock speeds of their CPU and GPU, and a broad overview of their system architecture from the Hot Chips talk. Beyond that, we know almost nothing. (And no, CBOAT's nonsensical rants don't count as evidence either.)
I think a lot of people are going to be surprised at the performance delta between the two consoles when all is said and done.
Some people enjoy talking specs. If you don't then it should have no impact on your enjoyment of the rest of the forum that isn't discussing technical divides.gosh
people here are too serious business these days
As I recall, it was all concerning versions of EA, Ubisoft, and Acitivision titles of all kinds. Can't remember if it was major differences in the larger view, but it was about devs talking about dialing down effects that worked much better on one versus the other as well as general IQ issues.
Yes, most accurate. I'd even say better than VGleaks.Hmm, most accurate? I don't think that's quite true. Also I think you took my point as me going against EDGE in this case, I don't think they are wrong here I was just giving the reason I dislike anonymous sources for big articles like this.
I can see why.Never really trusted them to begin with.
Oops!I was just looking through the article about Edge's 'Next Xbox always online and blocks used games' article. I couldn't help noticing that you dismissed it as a rumour, how did that work out again?
Not really concerned about Sony in the hardware stakes, it's the software especially the OS. I hope it's a lot better than PS3's. Only seen glimpses, would like them to do a proper demonstration video
from about a week ago. I'm dying. MY SIDES

You have a terrifying avatar. But those are the new night racing footage gifs from Driveclub.
If true, this really speaks to all my issues of Microsoft of late. which is telling people what they want, versus listening to them.
Kudos to Sony (and Cerny) for humbling up and listening to what devs and customers wanted.

How does that let the xbone have better gameplay
Where did you find 190Gflop CPU ? Wasn't 8core Jaguar ~100Gflop ?
suggested that without optimisation for either console, a platform-agnostic development build can run at around 30FPS in 1920×1080 on PS4, but itll run at 20-something FPS in 1600×900 on Xbox One
I dunno about you, but I always appreciated the PS3's audio as compared to Xbox 360. PS3 games and movies sound fuller and richer that Xbox 360 counterparts. Even on my $120 five-year-old HTIB system.
I feel the reverse will likely be true in the next generation (ie. Xbox One will sound better than PS4.)
