UGHHHHHHHHH ZEDD. WAT R U DOING

Ariana Grande Feat. Zedd - Break Free

First of all, I don't have a problem with him collaborating with Ariana Grande at all. She's a very good singer, Zedd is a very good producer, and this had massive potential.

Instead, it's a generic pop song someone like Katy Perry would release. It even hints at what could have been great, but just falls flat instead. It may be a radio hit, but it's nowhere near as good as it could have been. As a producer myself I can't help but feel like this is not as good quality as many of his other songs he's made from a production standpoint either. Clarity was an unbelievable track, and this does not meet that kind of standard I expect from him as a fan.

Unfortunately, the Max Martin collaboration on this one probably had some influence as well.

Edit: THAT BEING SAID - it's featuring him, not his track, but still.. Frustrating lol

Speaking of which, I had a few beers and threw on the headphones tonight...baaaaaaad Paradiso withdrawals. Bah. At least we booked our Vegas trip for Labor Day weekend! Probably seeing Kaskade at Marquee Saturday, either Zedd at XS or Carl Cox at Light Sunday, and maybe Above & Beyond at Hakkasan Friday. Gotta see Marquee and Drai's schedules when they come out though.

Yeah, I went last year and saw Hardwell, but it wasn't a peak weekend like Labor Day Weekend. Was still packed as hell though. Whatever, I had a good time.

I have a high school friend that works there, so that helped too

That's why my group just did bottle service, so we had our own shit if it was too packed. And if everyone put up it wasn't much.

I also won like 1k inside of marquee lol paid for my share plus made money! Not a fan of hak either prefer marquee and XS. Light was kool too, and Drais was okay. My friends who live there told me drais morning suck so we went st night, and I can see their point the pools are small.

Encore as still fav for night swim. XS and Daylight pretty awesome night swims too.

Are you still thinking about expanding EDC Vegas to two weekends?

Absolutely I would think about that. I go back and forth about it. I’m going to reconsider it after this year and see how it goes. But it’s something that makes a lot of sense in regards to doing a crazy production, because you can spread the production costs over two weekends and really make things make sense. It’s hard to make these budgets make sense. People think that everyone’s getting rich off it, but it’s very difficult; it’s very expensive. Two weekends would help us to do even maybe a little more. I think it’s good enough, but there are people who want to go who can’t go. I don’t know if two weekends is too big, but I’m going to feel it out coming out of this year.

You talked about bringing Nocturnal Wonderland and Escape from Wonderland to Vegas. Are those still in the works?

Definitely still doing that. I’m excited about that.

Will they be at the Speedway?

I’m not going to say never, but I feel like the Speedway should be for EDC and be something special there. There are other areas of the Speedway that could be used; they have some other kind of setups out there for other kinds of racing, and I’ve considered that. But I’ve also looked at some other spaces on the Strip, because there are some nice spaces that people are talking about developing, and I’ve been looking at those, as well.

One of my favorite sets of all time, is him closing out How Sweet it is LA 2001 in a dirt race track. 3 hours of trance/tech/prog. Music stops at 7am, people scream one more and he drops Mauro Picotto "Lizard" and everyone goes ape shit.
