ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN | Overview Trailer Released

Can't say I'm super hyped or anything, but I'm excited for just another FS game. Albeit, it's not really a game I would've preferred, but hey!

Yeah this may well be the first Fromsoft soulslike I skip. This and the multiplayer pish thats coming out on Switch 2

I've always hated the multiplayer side of their games, and immediately switch everything to offline mode in every game, even Bloodborne. I'd rather use the AI ghosts if I want help in a battle, but I despise seeing real people in my single player worlds in any form.

The biggest feature I hope other co-op devs borrow is the 'hit to heal' feature.

You can play the game solo.

With about 1500 hours in Elden Ring and the Souls games, it feels weird to say I have almost zero interest in what I'm seeing. But there it is...

The beta was...fine? I'm sure there is an audience for this, but the pace of the sessions is the polar opposite of why I play From's Souls titles.

Nah. Nobody is excited for this one
At least not many on GAF it seems.

If it was a normal day for sure is going to have more attention… Youtubers are going to eat well today with GTA. This is just another overview trailer, nothing interesting.
There's literally twice as many comments on Brazil's price increase to match US pricing for Ghost of Yotei. Not a particularly interesting topic right? That thread was also created today (and an hour later). Something is definitely off about this one. I'd be curious to see how it does commercially.

You now that BAD news in the video game world is the new trend.

I get that others might feel differently, but to me, it seems like their time and talent could've been better spent elsewhere

It could've been spent making the kind of single player experiences FromSoftware is actually known for

When Ubsoft recycle their ideas and assets over and over... the critics are overwhelming... im sorry to say, this should be the SAME case here.

I'm at the point where I don't think we'll get that Bloodborne remaster. At least, not this gen.

It's "just" a side project, FromSoft's A teams aren't working on this.

No they aren't, shithole game Assassins Creed Shadows got good reviews.

Furthermore, BG3 had more in common with DOS2 than TotK did with BotW.

You obviously don't realize this, but it is clear as day that iteration is the key to making the best games. Often game systems, graphics, engines, ect are reused and continuously perfected over time. That, in and of itself, is no reason to criticize a game.

Rather, when the game fails to evolve, then the game should be heavily criticized. For example, you are good making this diss on Horizon Forbidden West, but not Elden Ring. Even though Elden Ring like every other fromsoft game is an asset flip and they spent tons of time making new shit for Forbidden West, Forbidden West failed to evolve. It was worse than the first game and all the wrong things were brought forward, none of the other shit was fixed or even mixed up. That's the same reason you can't compare the bullshit that Ubisoft calls games to most other games, because Ubisoft is lazy, backwards thinking, pushing an agenda, greedy, and inept. Their games have shown this clearly for many years, which is why as Fromsoft has risen, Ubisoft has sank.

Miyazaki directed the Fromsoft game on switch so no matter how much everyone hates Nintendo, it's Bloodborne 2 and will be magnificent goty candidate. If you know anything about the man you know this to be true. /remindme 1 year

I was never going to be interested in a multiplayer focused game, but I just uninstalled Elden Ring. I'm definitely burned out on From's game design.

Looks fantastic to me to be honest.

Understand the scepticism on here as it's always seemed SP leaning to me but I can see myself putting 50 hours minimum in to this.

Bosses look terrifying in this.

In normal From game itself, they are crazy. Imagine trying to beat them on a clock in first attempt.

Anyways, am short on a friend who wants to buy this. 3 are needed. Might play on launch depending if anyone gets ready to give this a shot.

Awesome. My most anticipated game of this year. I am a sucker for FS games and I loved the beta.

Thanks for proving my point :-) Blocked

So it's just the one map eh.

Hmm.

It has Limgrave characteristics but the layout changes every run, plus heavy deviations like the volcano level.

That said, it is kind of weird how they have a plethora of areas to lift from Elden Ring but they chose only Limgrave.

Bosses look cool, gameplay looks great, but the overall game I'm not sure about yet, probably will try it out for 2 hours on steam and then refund if it's not good, I hope it's good though but it's clearly an experimental project in fromsoftware's point of view.

For better or for worse (worse IMO) this will sell like hotcakes and will most probably send the wrong message to FROM.

I used to love their games for their atmosphere and general art-direction but, their laziness has started to show and is now long in the tooth...
asset upon asset reuse, be that textures, animations, sounds and the ever NPCs speaking with a closed mouth - and least we forget, their cryptic, bullshit way of story telling via item description etc, something which not only has ran its course but it also feels lazy by 202X standards.
Add to that technical incompetency which can only be rivaled by the likes of companies like...Bloober Team and...yeah.

To be frank, I don't think they care anymore, they've found their niche, their fanbase does all the heavy lifting and hype (dudes like Vaati making a living creating lore videos), they've created their own genre , everyone's copying them and they're laughing all the way to the bank, that's why they've been using the same G'damn engine for more than 15 years now, that's why they keep recycling assets and content, their fan(boy)-base will never fault them for anything and they know it.

Sekiro and Bloodborne are 2 of my GOAT games but this shit can't go on like this and now, they're adding insult to injury by taking the MP, extraction/roguelite/whatever the fuck route for all the cool kiddies that play these games just for the (idiotic) "git gud" factor that like watching "THIS BUILD WILL DESTROY ALL BOSSES !11!1", "How to make Malena CRY" and "infinite farming spot" videos YouTube.

Blocking someone just for disagreeing?

No, because the user in question shows my users are lenient when FROM is the subject. Every other company would be the joke of the week if launchs a game, for example, if a map as useless as Shadow of the Erdtree, for example.

This game was so much fun in the beta, I can't always find time to play a game for more than 1 hour sessions and each game if you can complete the 3 cycles should last 60 minutes in total.

Perfect for a jump on and play fromsoftware game!

I hate co-op but once every understands what to do it will be absolutely fine to play with random people.

Collector's edition pre-orderd, helmet pre-orderd, shadow of the ERDTREE vinyl pre-orderd... Bring it!

This looks like Monster Hunter Royale Elden Ring, and I love it. It is such a shame that this does NOT have crossplay. It seems perfect to play with my friends who are on PC. Ugh.

This class system is what Elden Ring should have had—not just one or two stat changes here and there and calling it a day. But oh well, I hope they learn from these kinds of games for the next entry.

Looks fun, but I'm still having a hard time getting excited about it. Seems like there should be more skill options than just a static set for 8 characters, should be more than just three relic slots for character advancement (and why are they all generic looking crystals, could easily be differentiated better). Reused bosses, one map that's a remixed Limgrave...feels like $40 is asking a lot when it comes off as low effort compared to Erdtree or a main release.

This is the first time the game looks somewhat okay, but i feel like this will get old real fast. Like after a few days you gonna be over it
