Yeah, no clue. I'm wondering if they're just curious to know about the interest in additional modes that they could add to games in the future maybe? It's hard to tell. I mean, the whole project really does feel/sound like a fever dream, lol.I don't even know what the point of this game is. If I'm understanding this correctly, it's a co-op Elden Ring? A game which was already co-op?
That's what I was thinking. Who even asked for this?I don't even know what the point of this game is. If I'm understanding this correctly, it's a co-op Elden Ring? A game which was already co-op?
Probably the same reason you're vocal about sentiment you don't agree with. There seems to be a lot of negativity around anything some people just aren't into. I don't get why so many are so vocal about it, personally.
I was referring to games as a whole, not specifically Nightreign.Probably the same reason you're vocal about sentiment you don't agree with.
Fromsoft spent the past 15 years cultivating a primarily single player audience, so of course people are less enthused about a multiplayer offshoot.
That's kind of what I gathered. I mean, even Iron Pineapple enjoyed it, albeit he said he had issues with it, but he still found it fun and worth playing.Everyone who actually played the beta like me liked the game. Everyone's opinion here based purely on conjecture and pure free hate are meaningless.
me and the homies chillin out having fun playin concordEverything is fun with friends so thats not saying much lol
This seems like a fun game to play with friends. Not understanding all the negativity around it.
Whoa bro little early for personal attacksI would like to see the Venn Diagram of "Elden Ring players" and "Humans who have friends"
I wouldn't be surprised if that Switch 2 Fromsoft game is met with similar disinterest. I guess we'll see how big the audience is based on how this performs.I was referring to games as a whole, not specifically Nightreign.
Of course, I mean, that was written on the wall when it was announced. People joked about Elden Ring Fortnite and then were like, "Wait...." lmao. It's just interesting to see the response sounds a lot better for an experiment than I initially thought. Even if it isn't for everyone unfortunately.
Really curious how well it'll do.

Nightreign is going to sell millions of copies, and is (was?) the most wish listed game on Steam. I'm convinced that the reaction from GAF and Ree is not going to translate to actual real world performance.I wouldn't be surprised if that Switch 2 Fromsoft game is met with similar disinterest. Yeah definitely. Especially since a lot of people were turned off about that game as well the more they learned about the pvpve focus. I think the biggest question mark is the fact that two From Soft releases back to back have such a stronger multiplayer focus. It's a weird choice across the board. Could just be them really wanting to try some new things, but it does feel pretty bold to do it twice in a row.I wouldn't be surprised if that Switch 2 Fromsoft game is met with similar disinterest. Yeah, I can't say I'm a fan of the shift to multiplayer focused titles. As soon as I learned the Switch 2 game was multi my hype went to zero.Yeah definitely. Yeah, I'm right there with you. Yeah, it was the same with me, it definitely plummeted. But I'm still curious to see it in action before completely writing it off.Yeah, I can't say I'm a fan of the shift to multiplayer focused titles. To each their own. I'd check out Nightreign if it was f2p, but at $40 no thanks. I typically don't play multiplayer stuff for more than a couple hours.
I remember reading/hearing about an interview with Miyazaki that confirmed that more single player experiences were planned for the future and that they would never want to stay from that.On one hand, I wish everyone who is excited for this a good time. On the other hand, I hope this fails so From Software don't end up being another Bungie, making shitty live-service bullshit.
I am still kinda hoping that these are just projects to "train" new teams/staff/directors.That being said, I do think the focus on more multiplayer based experiences in this and The Duskbloods is pretty odd. Especially back to back.
They could very well be. Or just their way of testing interest in game types like these so that they can maybe add them or something similar in future releases.I am still kinda hoping that these are just projects to "train" new teams/staff/directors.
If it was 20 years ago when my friends and I didn't have families and played SOCOM until 4am, yeah, I'd be down for this. Nowadays? Just nah. Doesn't fit my lifestyle or gaming habits anymore. Don't have the time or energy to lock in for 30-45 minute runs with randos.Yeah, I'm right there with you. Yeah, it was the same with me, it definitely plummeted. I don't blame you for that, I'm sure a lot of folks feel that way. I think the main reason it was easy for me to bite was because I kind of completed everything at the moment and I have a small dry window, haha.
Man, do I hear that, lmao. It's only gotten harder and harder to play with friends because of those reasons. Trying to plan for a time that works for everyone is like pulling teeth. The thing that sucks is playing with randos definitely doesn't provide an experience that hits the same beats. But the game being played can definitely affect that as well.If it was 20 years ago when my friends and I didn't have families and played SOCOM until 4am, yeah, I'd be down for this. Nowadays? Like I told you in the other thread - GAF doesn't play games. It's a place to shit on everything without ever actually engaging with it yourself. Why doesn't gaf get groups together and try to play the game in the best light? Instead of whining? I don't get it
Brain rotted individuals.
You're melting down hard.Game will be a certified banger for anyone who doesn't have brain rot from being terminally online.
In my defense, I've been calling out FS for putting out unbalanced games with poor combat and extremely repetitive asset reuse for a while now. It's the same thing every time, only they usually get 90+ MC so this was interesting to me. I think their grace period is running out unless they really move the formula forward.Like I told you in the other thread - GAF doesn't play games. Yet majority of the mother fuckers on here yearly buy either CoD, FIFA, or Madden. Brain rotted individuals.
Game has a SP mode balanced for one player, and fromsoft has produced 0 bad games. To dismiss this is just the usual hive mind shit the internet does to deem a game bad before it releases.
It's fucking exhausting. Luckily for me I just play games that look good from companies that have good track records.
Let developers experiment man. They should stick to single player
There seems to be a lot of negativity around anything some people just aren't into. I don't get why so many are so vocal about it, personally.
This is a $40 spin-off to try something new and different with the IP. These reviews/scores sound pretty damn positive for what they were doing, all things considered. I'm sure it'll feel strange to those that love From Soft but aren't really interested in this. But it's just a spin off, there will be other titles coming later. But for the meantime, this is better than nothing IMO, even if it isn't for everyone. I'm just more curious than anything.
Experimentation will lead to a better gameplay experience in their next big single player game so I have nothing against it. Recluse Magic Cocktail(literally DnD Metamagic) in a future game? Yes please!Let developer's experiment man.
Hopefully this game bombs hard and fromsoftware never does this shit again.
The biggest thing FS games need to be scrutinized for more is shit performance and stutter. In my defense, I've been calling out FS for putting out unbalanced games with poor combat and extremely repetitive asset reuse for a while now. If any developer or fanbase has zero right to complain about negative press, it's From Software and their fans. They've basically been considered literally perfect for 10 years with critics attacked, put down, told they're bad at games and need to get good, or don't get anything about balance or game design. I remember how FS fans are when they're riding high. I will take this salt and use it to season my food for weeks to give me nourishment and life.
That's exactly what I was alluding to earlier. I don't know if it's some kind of weird "brain rot" or what, but the amount of negativity and toxicity about almost every release is wild, lol. It feels like CCU numbers and sales data have taken a front seat instead of other topics these days unfortunately.People want to see games fail now, it's the new meta in the gaming community. Even great games like Doom: The Dark Ages are getting dunked on for its player counts rather than its quality.
I have no idea why any more. I used to think it was just an anti-woke or anti-corporate thing but there seems to be a huge amount of pessimism nowadays that just wants to see modern gaming burned to the ground.
I wasn't looking forward to Nightreign, and the reviews have confirmed what I already thought, but everyone should be open to being surprised if the outcome ended up being good instead of revelling in failure.
I can usually tolerate a little jank, but yeah for sure. Especially with how successful they are.The biggest thing FS games need to be scrutinized for more is shit performance and stutter.
Because the gameplay and its mechanics are different enough to make it interesting apparently. At least for some. I mean, they knew what they were doing, it's why you can get the game for $35 on PC in some places.OC 80 for this Asset Reuse: The Game is something else lol.
