Elden Ring - overview trailer

I've watched it a few times, there really isn't that much in there. It gives high level goals of the game and not much else. Plus, this is a meaty game for sure and I can't imagine FS blowing their. . .shot like this in a six minute video. Reminds me of some of the gameplay videos from CP77: most of it was pretty much cribbed from the prologue before you even got to the title screen.



Looking at OPENCRITIC, 9 out of the 122 reviewers were posted after Feb. 14 and only 4 after release. I'm highly dubious of the main content size being the issue. It is almost surely people potentially beating their heads against a wall and a review timer.

Well, the DS3 launch trailer basically showed like 90% of the bosses and CP2077 legit had the ending scene in the launch trailer.

That being said, I don't think they showed us anything too meaningful and if they did we probably have no context to what is going on anyway.

Yeah, no.

Keep in mind we're slated to get RT in a patch which would boost the lighting effects, outside of that the only thing that their engine is clearly behind is fur and hair rendering (outside of the character creator), but, their games always relied heavily on art direction than straight up polygon count etc, I personally think it's a beautiful game and can't wait to experience more of it.

This is probably the very best that whole gen got in the style. That was already enhanced for PC/next gen consoles in this form, otherwise it was a low resolution badly performing pop in mess. I'm pretty sure it had loading between the interior/city areas and the open world too. Folks be blind 🤷‍♂️

Sooo, i think Miyazaki was trolling us with the 30 hours play through. Maybe after a couple of runs by speed runners, but even veteran soul players right now, it seems none have finished.

Just in from discord reviewer chat; someone has finished the review copy. MILD CONCEPTUAL SPOILER AHOY

So I just finished and holy shit the late game is crazy hard. There is a Bloodborne-amygdala-esque *reveal* towards the end of the game that absolutely blew my mind. KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE STONE CREST ASTROLOGY THINGS!

I have no idea what this means myself as I haven't got to the end yet, but assuming it's one of those 'should have seen it all along' reveals that bloodborne had mid way.

It's an art style issue. This looks Xbox 360 quality on a small cellphone window. When you blow it up to full screen you can see much better textures. Some other scenes have this quality as well.

Watched it, pre-ordered the game and hyped as fuck. This is going to be an epic journey! From Software has not dissapointed me yet. I'm ready. Bring the pain.
