I really wish Bethesda would give me a third person perspective with a third person control scheme. I'd like to be excited about this game, but I just couldn't get past the perspective/controls long enough in Morrowind to give it a fair shake.

Nope. The first two are from the E3 demo, the third is from a different scene not in the demo.

I've seen the third scene in the E3 video.

I do like how that dude in the gold armor has a blood-stained sword. :) Do we have to clean them off or does it just go away over time?

i´m just hoping they can keep the framerate up.. this game @30fps would be amazing..

a slideshow would be.. bad

Man u ES newbs make me sick. It wasn't about short learning curves and intuitive controls it was about expansiveness and exploration of making your own adventure. You can't make games that expansive without sacrificing polish. Thats why we have patch upgrades.

Where the fuck did this come from? Who the hell are you talking to?

WHAT THE FUCK

This is, without doubt my most anticipated game for the xbox 360 launch window.

my roommate and i would play the living hell out of morrowind on xbox and we loved it, bugs and all.

Unfortunately we never really got into the GotY edition when it was released, most likely because we played the original so much.

Seriously considering a TV upgrade for next gen everytime screens for this or PGR3 come out.

You know, you can use Morrowind saves with Morrowind GOTY. Unless you mean you totally lost interest in anything morrowind..

You probably don't realize this, but the Elder Scroll games have always been First Person games. The 3rd person in Morrowind was a first for the series, and something long time fans of the series detested.

we just lost interest. we did nearly everything we could do in the game.

though our obsession never hit the "steal every pillow in the game and make a fort" level. :lol

Fuck, if you couldnt grasp the controls in morrowind, then what the hell can you grasp ? can you press the A button ?

Jealous?

They could be from beta kits, but I don't see the self-shadowing they are claiming is on everything.

See the back of the creatures? That should be self-shadowed by the big thing on their head..

I hear this game is using FaceGen. You'll be able craft your character's face with almost limitless possibilities. (Think The Sims 2)

We haven't released any screenshots with shadows turned on.

Just out of curiosity, Steve... any idea how the PC and Xbox 360 versions will look, when compared to each other?

For that matter, will Oblivion even run well on a P-4 HT 3.8hz with an ATI Radeon XT 850X?

Ah, good to hear. That'll make a nice improvement in the visuals. A lot of the other stuff looks to be in place already, but the shadows throw it off. PEACE.

Man, this is so my most wanted game right now. After putting so much time into Morrowind I can see myself completely losing myself in this one.

I can only reiterate how f*cking awesome this game was at E3 during the private screening. The only thing that worried me a bit was the framerate because it appeared to chug when there was a lot of action on screen.

But I'm hopeful that Beth Soft will sort all that out in time for launch. Of course, they can always release patches later on the PC (dunno about X360).

I'd like to know
1. Does the grass sway?
2. Does the grass react to characters moving through it?
3. Do the trees sway?
4. Is there a day/night system?
5. Is there a weather system or are certain areas just sunny/rainy/etc...?

Thanks to anyone who can answer. Even just a couple 'YES's will get me really excited.

Yes to both 4 and 5. The TES series always had a solid day/night and random weather system. Days, weeks, months, holidays, too. I imagine Oblivion will as well.

YES YES

There's even a Mod for the PC version of Morrowind that adds in swaying trees, but the addition is a total hack that makes it look awful, at least up close. Decent enough from far away, if you can't see the bottom of the trees. Blech.

Tis' I also wonder.
Some of us won't be getting an X360, actually.
