That was annoying, but you can't say you don't expect that kind of garbage from a guy named Joe Buck.

The most shady thing (besides the BS missed intentional grounding call) was the operation of the game clock at the end of the game. I swear it was being operated by Bellichick. That thing was mega delayed when the Pats would snap the ball. On that first bomb to Moss only 3 seconds expired off the clock...

Not like it matters, but that was really annoying the hell out of me.

I swear there is nothing more satisfying than seeing the Pats lose. :D

Best SuperBowl… EVER. I can’t believe it. Queens is buzzing right now. Cars are beeping their horns, teenagers are walking the streets with their Giants jerseys, neighbors are still on their porches talking about the game, fireworks are popping in the night’s sky. It’s a warm night in Queens tonight. The celebration feels as jovial and inspiring as the 4th of July. We’re all sharing this win together. New York, finally the home of champions.

I'll propose a ban bet with you that the Pats will win by at least 10 points in the SB.

(I accidentally posted this in the other thread. I just like bringing up stupid comments from poser fans)

"When Brady doesn't have forever to throw, he sucks"

really don't know much about football. There isn't a QB in the league (Vick is in jail) who could have been successful with offensive line play that absolutely dreadful. He had no time whatsoever. Brady wasn't revealed as a fraud or anything.

I JUST GOT HOME I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE THIS FEELING!!!!:D :D
NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS--SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!!!

That one play, where Eli shook-off a possibly game ending sack and whipped it to Tyre who snagged it off his f**king helmet will go down as one of the all time great plays in NFL history! Amazing!

What a win for Eli and Coughlin who both were nearly run out of town by the media! What a win for the Giants fans, who had to put up with nearly 20 years of near misses, hype, and disappointment since that last moment in the sun in 1990!!

Let's hear it for the bELIevers!!:D

Or is this where I mention how well Eli played under pressure?

I love the fact that a 4th down gamble that wasn't to run up the score on a team they were shellacking may have been a difference-maker.

Heh. I just saw the Perfectville ad on NFL Network.

NFL retirement

In October 2006, Barber revealed his intention to retire at the end of the 2006 NFL season. Barber has previously indicated his desire to retire at some point and pursue a broadcasting career but the news still came as a shock to Giants fans and NFL observers.

Many fans wondered why a player at the peak of his game would retire. Barber cited the toll the physical nature of football takes on a person's body. He also spoke of his keen interest in pursuing a broadcasting career and other opportunities. Rick Reilly wrote a column in Sports Illustrated, that chastised critics of Barber's decision and listed a number of former players who played until they were no longer physically able to and have since endured long-term injuries.

During his career with the Giants, the team never won a championship, a top goal of Barber's that he spoke publicly about in 2005. When announcing his retirement, Barber seemed at peace to leave the game without a Super Bowl ring. He said, "I used to think my career was defined by not winning a Super Bowl. But I think looking back on my career, they'll see someone who was a competitor, someone who always played hard and never gave up."[13] He officially filed his retirement papers with the Players Association on February 12, 2007

The year after he retired, the Giants won Superbowl 42 against the undefeated New England Patriots, 17-14, on February 3rd, 2008. Punch was served.

no, but he looked average. the patriots had other-worldly blocking for almost the entire season. what people are saying is that when brady doesn't have 10 seconds to sit back there, he doesn't look like some unstoppable record setting beast. he is still a good QB, but nothing like the first half of the season. and what if every QB got the kind of time he normally got throughout the season?

Did anyone see that the patriots actually recovered the Eli Manning fumble, then the giants ripped it out of his hands and the refs called it in favor of the giants :lol :D :lol :D

:lol I've just challenged you to show me anywhere that I dissed a winning playoff team and you can't. "BU BU BUT YOU TALK SHIT LULZ"

I talk shit about the Steelers because the Steelers fans are almost as delusional as Cubs fans in their rampant dicksucking of a franchise that continually fails to live up to the hype. But there's not many other franchises I talk massive shit about. I mean seriously... name them. I'll even let you go thru every other sports thread to back up your claims about me, but you can't. (And now you'll quote this, if you bother to reply, and try to argue that the Steelers won the superbowl in 2006, have one of the five best QBs in the league, and only got embarassed in the playoffs cuz your starting RB broke his leg. And eventually I'll have to stop replying because I'm a closet Steelers fan myself who secretly loves the Rooneys but I just can't stand Steelers fans)

Big Ben seemed to do alright this year with an offensive line that was way worse than what the Pats looked like tonight.

Of course it comes back to bite the Steelers in the ass a lot, but you can still get it done with subpar o-line play. You just can't take 6 seconds to go through 5 reads and then throw a bomb down the field and you have to consistent. You also have to be able to make something out of nothing on occasion. Something Romo also has a knack for doing and was exactly the play that won the game for the Giants.

One question: Remember the play where Brady was hit as he threw from the endzone? Why wasn't that a safety? We never got a great shot of the field, but I never saw any Patriot play on the left side of the field. Wasn't that intentional grounding?

Either way, I'm glad this was a well called game. No real bitching from either side.

He retired, big woop. I can certainly see why this may be amusing now, but its not like he is a bad person for retiring.

Even though I am a Colts fan, this Super Bowl blew last years out of the water. Just incredible.

I also think it's silly to say the Pats O-line played awful. They played fine, but the Giants just played lights out. You can't expect any O-line to protect against that monster pass rush unless they too play great. Their timing was just spot on. Not much you can do against that.

Did anyone see that the patriots actually recovered the Eli Manning fumble, then the giants ripped it out of his hands and the refs called it in favor of the giants

if you're talking about eli's "fumble" near the end it wasn't a fumble. he was clearly down.

if you're talking about bradshaw's fumble in the 2nd quarter on the draw play, you may have a point. that's why the pats guy should've wrapped that shit up!

He meant the botched exchange. The Patriots clearly got possession and the Giants were given the ball because it got torn away at the bottom of the pile.

I made the mistake of watching the game with people who are actually into football. When they asked who I was rooting for, I said, "Tom Brady, cause he's sexy." That didn't go over too well. Oh well, at least they liked my food.

it's one thing for tiki to retire. but he talked a lot of shit about eli and the giants right after

also, giggle, about that intentional grounding, me and my buddies were calling for it also. i think they didn't call it because his arm was hit. i think it was a good no-call, but if they called it, it could've been argued that it was the correct call.

The pressure that Eli got was nowhere comparable to the tidal wave that Brady was faced with tonight... not even close. I know you're going to mention 'The Play' where Eli avoided that sack but look at the game overall. Brady was knocked down 10 times and sacked 4. He was getting mauled all night... their O-line was terrible. It was absolutely the story of the game and why the Pats lost.

The saddest thing about you, Spectral Glider, is that you're the only Steelers fan who perpetually buys into my shit talking/joking, as well. Whether it's my constant jibes (for what, two years now?) about Plaxico Burress having somehow POSSIBLY being useful to the Steelers or just the general baiting I do... you always bite. Don't you learn? Don't you stop to wonder why no other Steelers fan on here acknowledges my negativity about your franchise, and why we seem to be rather amicable on any other topic?

i just need a hug. :(

Come on kbear! Eli was being rushed nearly all night, the difference being Eli was actually mobile where Brady would just throw the ball and take the hit and hope Moss's 15ft advantage would come into play

Was there even one play tonight where Brady avoided pressure and made a play? Eli did it at least three times. I love the double standards, though. Eli played well under pressure, Brady did not.

oh boo fucking hoo tom brady didn't get forever to throw. get the fuck out of here with the pressure argument. the patriots wouldn't have even been in the playoffs without that ridiculous offensive line. they STILL could've won the game if they didn't have a stubborn coaching staff who refused to go for a FG or run the ball consistently.

What's you definition of finesse? You cant' be talking about either the Colts D or the Pats D since they are both in the top 3 in points allowed so there is nil chance either D is finesse and if you talking offense that's an amusing comment. The Pats morph into whatever they have to do to win games. Early in the season they threw all over everyone because they could. If nobody can stop you from throwing why would you play smash mouth? They ran for almost 150 on SD and Jax when they had too. That's what great teams do. You comment holds no weight whatsoever.

I think people are overstating the O-line's performance. The Giants D played great, but I've seen quarterbacks win games behind worse protection. He had a fair amount of time on a lot of throws where he was hit or sacked.

Brady wasn't revealed as a fraud. He had an alright game.... and playcalling was part of the problem. you take heat, you change it up... they did that, but maybe a bit too late... they had a lot of plays where it seemed like he wanted 5 seconds back there.

That said, Brady's huge success this year has all sorts to do with the fact that he had incredible protection. They would've had a good season either way, but there were games where he was hardly touched.
