Rumors about Bond themes should be taken with a grain of salt. They're frequently bullshit.

That said, I like Ellie Goulding a lot and think she'd do a great job. I had kind of assumed they'd be bringing Adele back, though.

- The old Bond pattern where people who were rumored to be doing the theme song actually hurt their chances of landing it.

I'm an Ellie Goulding fan, but her voice doesn't really sound like something I would want to hear for a James Bomb theme song. Nevertheless, more Ellie Goulding is nice. I can see why they chose her since "Love Me Like You Do" did so well.

I'm not against it, I really like Ellie Goulding. Also, I thank the gods that they didn't go for Sam Smith, the only song he's in that I can listen to without falling asleep is Latch.

Another Way to Die is a better song than Skyfall IMO. I still don't get why that one got so much positive buzz, it was just another Adèle piano ballad.

The tricky thing is writing a song that suits Goulding's somewhat delicate voice, rather than trying to fit a square peg into a round hole by making her sing a big-voiced Shirley Bassey-style theme.

The Tomorrow Never Dies theme is a great example of a decent Bond theme ruined by picking completely wrong person for it.
