Ellie Goulding looks set to sing the theme for SPECTRE

With a decent writer this could work, though I'm still skeptical.

Really longing for another theme in the style of You Know My Name though, that one really worked, though I reckon something a bit slower in pace might be more suitable looking at what we've seen of the film so far.

Still haven't listened to the new album. Their previous disappointments have made me quite wary but I need to get around to it.

Like always they're the type of band that you need to give a few listens to before you can really get into the grove of their songs. I usually find 4-5 songs in each album that I end up really liking, for different reasons.

They keep changing their style and even though the distortion guitar is largely back again for this album, if classic Muse is the only acceptable "sound" for you, you'll likely be disappointed in this one too.

My favorite tracks on the new album are:

Defector, The Handler, Reapers, Dead Inside and Psycho. It's definitely a better album then The 2nd Law, Reapers in particular is fantastic.

I don't know who she is but I fully expect the themes for the Daniel Craig Bonds to continue their streak of being terrible. Won't stop me from seeing the film.

Good-to-outstanding movies, laughably bad title themes.

EDIT:

Since people are shouting out what they want, I say they just make some minor adjustments to this Pepe Deluxé track and be done with it.

after the insane success of Love Me Like You Do, even tho it was connected to that flop mess 50 Shades, I'd say it's a safe bet.

She sounds like Tommy Pickles. Her and Sia.

(Why yes, I grew up in the '90s, thanks for asking.)

he said proudly rocking a Katy Perry avi...

I like her but I can't see it; whereas Adele fit perfectly and I'm not a big fan of hers.

Bet it'll still be better than the shit theme for QoS.

Another Way to Die is a better song than Skyfall IMO. I still don't get why that one got so much positive buzz, it was just another Adèle piano ballad.

They did an amazing job combining the classic Bond overture in with Adele's signature jazzy style. It's easily the most Bassey-esque Bond theme not sung by Bassey.

I'm okay with this. Lana Del Rey would've been an excellent pick, too.

What I'm more curious about is whether they directly tie the "Spectre" title into the song, or make it more of an original like You Know My Name, Nobody Does It Better, All Time High and Another Way to Die.

People didn't like Adele's Skyfall?

Surprising. I thought it was considered one of the best. I certainly liked it.

I thought it was absolute trash. The chorus completely ruined it. A real shame to as Adele certainly has the voice to carry a great Bond song, if she'd had a great one to sing.

Completely agree. Instrumental is amazing but those lyrics are absolute garbage.

I see Goulding as more of an EDM vocalist than a typical singer. That's why I don't think this is a great fit. Would have preferred Lana Del Rey or The Weeknd

Not a fan of her voice for a bond theme .... needs something more ...epic.

Since the blackest they can go is Alicia Keys and Adele can't make 32 theme songs, I vote for Florence girl....

Or maybe they already consider Beyonce white enoght ? *bleach.gif* xD

should be conchita wurst.

That would be epic. Sadly never going to happen

Or do you mean just nowadays? I mean, Michael G. Wilson's been producing these things since the '80s.

What on earth are you talking about? There have been loads of black artists who have done Bond music. The most famous Bond theme of all time was sung by a black woman.

not a fan...
she's got 1 solid song, and the other one that suppose to be awesome is just the same lyrics repeated over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Recently .... 20 years and 7 movies since the last one

Well I dunno. "20 years and 7 movies since the last one" puts us in a weird argument of whether Alicia Keys is "black enough." Otherwise we're talking 2 movies, and then a pretty decent history of black singers.

Fair enogh ... also sad that Alicia keys deserved a full song, not a shit duet with Jack White that has a voice that has NOTHING to do with james bond themes

All you have to do is say some weird shit a bunch and the title of the film and you've got yourself a good Bond track.

He lives in the shadows
He's crewl and ashamed and alone
He's a...SPPECTERRR
No morals or cadence to his tone
He's a Specter
He's a Specter
He's a specter
He's a
Dun dun dun
Specter
Dun dun dun
Doo doo Doo Doo
Doo Doo Doo doo
Doo Doo Doo Doo
(Open guitar strum)

I'll wait for my check in the mail.

Adelle's has been the best of the Craig era themes, but if this rumor turns out to be true I will be pleased. Ellie Goulding is great, I will look forward to whatever it is she writes for a Bond theme.

Jesus. H. Christ.

You've got your list on upside down.

Fix'd

In the future, please, refrain from making that type of mistakes.

You are all crazy. Skyfall is an awful movie with an awful contrived plot that makes no sense when even a little thought is put into it. CR is a nice movie but overly long for what it accomplishes, the poker scenes are disjointed and don't flow as a coherent story.

Whereas Quantum has the single best sequence in all the Bond movies. It has a plot that makes sense, characters have clear motivations and it deals with modern ideas of extreme corporatism which seeks to corrupt legitimate government.
