It is a travesty that Lana Del Rey hasn't done a Bond theme yet.

So much of her music feels so cinematic and is a perfecft fit.

I absolutely agree, but they're few and far between.

The tricky thing is writing a song that suits Goulding's somewhat delicate voice, rather than trying to fit a square peg into a round hole by making her sing a big-voiced Shirley Bassey-style theme.

The Tomorrow Never Dies theme is a great example of a decent Bond theme ruined by picking completely wrong person for it.

Well, the problem with Tomorrow Never Dies' theme is they picked the wrong song since Sheryl Crow was a bigger name.

Surrender is great and the title sequence is even meant to sync up with it. They're always better off doing something the composer can quote in the score as the main theme, so it'd be nice if Newman co-composed it.

I find it kinda strange that so many people have a single, set idea of what a Bond theme should be in their heads. Sure, there's been plenty of diva-type stuff over the years, but there's also been stuff like The Living Daylights, From Russia with Love, Live and Let Die, A View to a Kill, You Know My Name, etc. There's a million artists besides "obvious" choices like Lana Del Ray who could knock it out of the park.

Noted! I'm glad. I mean, it's difficult to make a good movie, but they made it sound like that the SPECTRE script was unbeliveable bad. Some said it compared to Battlefield Earth. I'm glad that it is just hyperbole. Hoping for the best!
