These safe space privileged clowns are equating Twitter to an actual physical war of death & attrition.
His ambitions seem geared toward making an English version of WeChat, so who knows what will actually come of his owning Twitter. The moderation side is less interesting to me than those plans for future development.
Because communism is a totalitarian regime. Once in a while you will have some liberal arts student pointing to some 20 people colony in Scotland in 1700s being 'communist', but then you know they have nothing about the subject they speak on.All of the "communist" countries are actually more totalitarian in practice.
And as far as Tesla engineers talking to Twitter... That's stupid too. Device and automotive embedded engineering is way different than service operations/and approaches. But yes, just what we need is people who are programming cars to crash into people some how becoming service side scaling engineers.
One makes the news, the other can aggregate it. Probably musk.Bigger information wars power play - Bezos buying the Washington Post, or Musk buying Twootter?
I’m actually surprised elon hasn’t tried to make a phone yet. I imagine his designs and accessibility options would be very attractive and come off as a new kind of apple. OS and support would most likely be the biggest hurdleHe can either continue partnering with T-Mobile or directly launch his own phone service, etc.

The rich protects the rich. There is no reason for CEOs to be paid that much.CEO Walked away with 42 million. I wish I could get fired and get a few million for it.
Lol, mf’s looking to get more followers
"If you guys leave twitter, no one will be left to follow me and satisfy my ego!"
So, I don't think this is a realistic assessment of talent and how smart people actually work in the world.
Clever programmers and mathematicians and physicists are employed in many fields and can adapt and work in any of them. Of course the Tesla guys (or Neuralink guys) could offer support and oversight.
When I was in quantitative finance, half the guys weren't of a finance background, they were from mathematics or physics. My boss was a PhD in Chemistry. Myself and my best friend, who's still in finance, hold advanced degrees in Neuroscience, yet we worked on things as wide as machine-learning, graph theory, hell even forex and human-smuggling. I went to school with a BioE with works for SpaceX as an engineer and from what I've heard from him and anecdotally, Musk is an amazing guy because he hires regardless of formal background, based on ability and pliability of intellect.
That said, your latter reply doesn't give me much hope you'll approach this with an open mind, unfortunately.
Maybe Elon doesn't trust some of the engineers, especially after leaks of senior engineers spilling the commie beans.I am in software development. And yeah, there's very little that's going to suddenly pop out of Tesla's teams mouth that the Twitter engineers don't already know or already know better. Further, their tech platform isn't their problem.
And the other bit... Well, it's all for show, and it's stupid as fuck that Musk would disrupt his very busy team at Tesla to do a showboat exercise with the engineers at Twitter. It's pretty much exactly in line with everything he does.
Yep.The Tesla software team, if the reporting is true, is probably only there to get the code looked over by a team that Elon trusts. I doubt they'd add anything new or revolutionary to the underlying Twitter code.

Yep.
What? Leaks happen everywhere.. and the only commie I've seen is Musk publicly sucking Putin's dick. There's not some weird software dev cabal out there... And yeah, some probably think Elon is a creeper cause well... He is, and it's not like he's spoken nicely of them so not sure why you think they should be nice and loyal back.
Neat. I heard rumors for the longest time, but didn’t know it got confirmed. Custom chip, but no word on the OS eh? Update: this phone is still not confirmedTesla may debut in phone industry with Tesla Pi Phone - The Tech Outlook
After being successful in the car industry, looks like Tesla may step up its game by stepping into the field of mobile manufacturing according to rumors. Tesla will launch its 1st phone in December 2022 according to Priceinall. This article is to discuss the rumored specifications of the Tesla...www.thetechoutlook.com
Google has exclusive contracts with manufacturers for android, so it’s not so easy to break into the market. They also tie their apps together. So while it is open source, it’s very limited and with google in a big way. You can learn some things about it via the MicroG project or see what Louis Rossmann is up to working with FUTO.Great point. What are the options?
Building your own OS is tedious and and reminded of Musk's comment to George Hotz where he allegedly offered him a job at Tesla saying, effectively, why spend your time tracking down the edge cases in self-driving which will be infeasible when you can work with us? It made sense to me.
So, Android fork? Is Fuschia far enough along?!
The irony of saying this while throwing around the term "commie" thinking it somehow makes sense. Just because you hate something doesn't automatically make it communist, Jesus H.
You're lost in the sauce, and the marketing worked well on you.
Literally have no idea what this post means.
You're lost in the sauce, and the marketing worked well on you.
How in the hell can you equate communists with terrorists
Probably the system design, not the code itself. And even then, not sure what they'll add to it (Twitter actually has a good architecture, and (used to) lead with some good open source and references architectures). Anyway... Twitter doesn't have a tech stack problem.
Plus with the recent software resultant recalls they probably should stay focused.
It's the senior engineers that work for Twitter that called their fellow engineers and executives "commies and far far far far far left." Their own words. The irony of saying this while throwing around the term "commie" thinking it somehow makes sense. Just because you hate something doesn't automatically make it communist, Jesus H.
Communism is Imperialism 101 sugar coated and marketed to generational youths that have been used to being raised by their parents, hand outs from their parents, sent to school by their parents and thus they find that continued "parental handout" scenario a very appealing way of life. The state turns into mummy and papa, and they don't realize the goal is to spread it like Imperialism, seize the means of production (resources, labor, etc.) like Imperialism, and ration your bread and cheese like Imperialism.I always find it weird that communism is deemed acceptable while fascism is not. As political theories they share more commonalities than differences and the bodycount from attempts at establishing large-state communism are way greater.
Communism, particularly Marxism, strikes me as being presented as morally "good" because its utopian final stage gets all the focus, not the revolutionary and socially purging actions that are an absolute necessity to reach that utopia, whereas with Fascism the reverse is true. Which is ironic really as both their "great visions" for global society are equally absolutely intolerant of any of dissent!
Good.
Pieces of shit had a really good time banning and silencing people, they felt the owners of morality and discourse, and also partnered with democrats to ban and remove conservative voices, they also fucked over people(including doctors) who went against the current narrative of covid back at two years ago.
They literally deserved to get kicked the fuck out of the building.
They literally allowed a dossier conspiracy for years.First posts I see after this happens on Twitter are election conspiracies.
They literally allowed a dossier conspiracy for years.
Communism is in no way considered acceptable unless you are a liberal arts left wing idiot who never got further with communism than Che Guevara t-shirt.I always find it weird that communism is deemed acceptable while fascism is not.
Ngl its going to be very interesting seeing how the twitter community evolves in the next couple years.
That's not what I said nor implied. It shows the bullshit double standard even you took issue with"Its ok because they did it first!!"
not really. So now that the deal is done, has this thread served its purpose?
I dont think you're really understanding whats been happening. Twitter can change minds, changed minds run your world, whether you're awake to it or not. The world still turns, even without you being a part of it.I don't use Twitter and get by just fine. We've gotten by since the dawn of humanity without this scourge just fine, but now it's suddenly the most important thing ever to civilization?
And I don't agree that is has become the standard in how companies/governments communicate with us, they all still use the traditional means, too. Just because something has become ubiquitous doesn't mean it's become essential.
And I agree, let's burn all social media to the ground. Nothing has ever divided us more.
Ngl its going to be very interesting seeing how the twitter community evolves in the next couple years.
well said. i am the same. either it gets better or doesn't. either way i am happy. As social experiments go, it’s a doozy.
Musk will either make it better, or it’ll crash and burn like the next MySpace. Either is fine with me.
and it's not like Musk just came in and bought Twitter out this week.If the guy is making Twitter money as a tech engineer (surely making over $100,000) and can’t afford to pay monthly bills for a Tesla the guy has money issues and blew his budget. The guy is one of those “I make good money, assume it’ll last forever, and I’ll straddle the fence pay cheque to pay cheque buying Teslas and Starbucks frappacinnos like money is no object”.
Lesson learned. Don’t buy a car you can’t afford.
He does live in San Fran, cost of living is laughably bad there. If the guy is making Twitter money as a tech engineer (surely making over $100,000) and can’t afford to pay monthly bills for a Tesla the guy has money issues and blew his budget. Can’t wait. Musk better keep his foot on the gas pedal egging fragile people on Twitter. It’ll be hilarious. As social experiments go, it’s a doozy.

That is one thing, especially with how easy it is to fire in the US. But another thing - 100k$ in SF is nothing, if this guy is data engineer and makes 100k he sure does a shitty job.If the guy is making Twitter money as a tech engineer (surely making over $100,000) and can’t afford to pay monthly bills for a Tesla the guy has money issues and blew his budget. His post yesterday walking in holding a sink with a big smile on his face is killer laughs for most people and like the apocalypse for others. Lol
