Never ends.especially if Musk opens Twitter back up to hate, abuse, shitty politics, etc.

I just don’t get why “free speech” always boils down to wanting to conduct hate speech and never anything more.
It is never actually about free speech, it’s about freedom to hate speech.
Horrible site. They kept quiet about that convicted nonce Peter Bright for long enough.I'm reading the comments on the Ars Technica story about this and that place may be even worse than era.
Hate speech = speech I hate
The idea of "hate speech" is to establish one of the boundaries of what is free speech. People like to push those boundaries because to them it proves that they actually have free speech. You happen to like that boundary because it conforms to your ideology about other issues that we can't get into.
Of course, there are other legal boundaries, such as the classic of yelling fire. I haven't seen anyone argue that should be allowed, though I'm sure some do.
Also though, I haven't seen Elon claim his Twitter will be completely open and adhere to free speech absolutism. I'm sure it will still have restrictions based on some common ideals of moral decency instead of political identity.
…what happens if China wants to play ball? This must be unprecedented oh no….
It's ideologues claiming that the only speech those on the right have, is hate speech... or what they continue to shift the Overton to deem "hate speech."Is the concern that opening up Twitter to other ideas and perspectives will damage all the peace and acceptance it has helped to foster these last few years?!
Have they sold their Teslas?7 years is a long time.
The beauty of it, Twitter is more than likely how Verge reaches their target audience... and they're assisting their target audience in leaving.Have they sold their Teslas?
Costco hot dogs ftw!My prediction: Twitter in a year from now looks a lot like Twitter today. People screeching that this is the end of humanity/the rebirth of freeze peaches will be disappointed. Costco hot dogs remain $1.50
TBH it's the best internet salt mining I've done since they sold the site. Possibly better. The meltdown on reset era is f***** hilarious.
I might actually make a twitter account after all

J. K. Rowling as head of human resources.Jordan Peterson as vp.
Their pizza is also pretty damn good. A step up from frozen and your little ceasers types at least.Damn, I just got really hungry. My old house was literally across the street from the local Costco. I used to grab two dogs for lunch when working from home. Ah. Memories.
An aside, I am surprised that so many are having a laugh at Twitter employees' uncertainties. Any time a company changes ownership can be stressful, and Musk does not have the best track record when it comes to treating employees fairly. Frankly, if I were in their shoes, I'd be using this as an opportunity to get the fuck away from San Fran. Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, even Florida, all have tech jobs that pay better in areas that cost half as much (or close to it) to live in. Fucking get out now, lol.
This isn't true.
Their smoothies are no joke.Their pizza is also pretty damn good. A step up from frozen and your little ceasers types at least.
their poutine is one of the best, but I don't think that's available in the US.Their pizza is also pretty damn good. A step up from frozen and your little ceasers types at least.

The Verge were always shit. And they're the least worse of the cancer that is Vox Media7 years is a long time.
Yes, lets create hypothetical problems and then hold people accountable for these non-existing problems.
More often than not, it absolutely is true.

True, and you are right. But that's not exactly the same position you took earlier. You're right my opinion doesn't matter. The opinions of the companies and advertisers on Twitter matters though.
And if Musk is actually dumb enough to allow that kind of stuff onto the platform then they will be letting their opinions be known by leaving the platform. No business would want to be associated with something like that.
What's the big issue? It's not like Elon bought a government branch or sort...
