Who is even getting kids nowadays at the age of 18-24? There has been a shift to later parents (because you need a career first to financially support children).

Edit: A explanation I could think of: Workload has risen, young people are burned out more, stress isn't good for the libido.

A big part of the problem is that partners and relationships are viewed as being completely disposable now, which is multi-faceted. There's the instant gratification thing, which means that one tiny "red flag" results in ghosting/breaking up with someone. Then there's the sheer ease of finding a new hookup via social media and dating apps.

And finally there's modern culture itself saying that settling down with one person and having kids is boring and old-fashioned, and instead you should have sex with as many people as possible and remain a free spirit for your entire youth.

For women the messaging is particularly harmful when they reach their 30s and realize they DO want kids, but their time to have them is running out because A) they have to find a stable long-term partner and B) they have to actually conceive, which can take a long time--and all of this is going on while their biological clocks are ticking. AND they're trying to maintain/advance in their careers at the same time.

Seems to skyrocket during the great expansion of the internet/social media, and economic recession. Hence, the birth of the simp generation. Tons of reasons i could think off.

- insecure ( which is far higher probably now with younger people for the simple reason they are protected there whole life and be told sex is bad and something for after marrage )
- other things that keep men occupied then chasing relationship like games.
- financial struggles = no opportunity to make a family ( getting a stable job and future has never been as hard as before + buying houses and bankroll a family is far more difficult then it has ever been before for youth which results in young adults getting older and skip relationships entirely as they get used to single life ).
- runnign company + hobby's and simple not wanting or having the time for a family.
- no family pushing kids anymore into marriage or relationships.
- seeing every relationship strand because both party's are simple not interested enough to chase it because marriage means nothing anymore other then a party.
- females gets told they are just like men at early age and they need to run the world because they are "the best or even better" probably creates a lot of females that can't hold or find relationships for shit.
- social media + meetoo shit, probably prevents a lot of men from even trying anything as it can ruin there life 2 seconds after it. So they are running on eggshells around females to the point they get ditched as they don't take the traditional male role that woman crave for so much but signal they don't want.
- easy access to porn to the point that sex for them is nothing but another shit on a day.

After WWII, there were a LOT of social programs intended to give a leg up to people... Plus the establishment of the minimum wage that helped A LOT of people afford to live! Even with kids!

Overpopulation is nonsense. if you got new york for example as density and make a state like california a complete city like new york u can probably plant the entire human population in there. while billions sounds like a lot, people are spread out A LOT. The problem is the decline in the west which is in front of pretty much everybody when it comes on these things is worrying for people like elon musk for the simple reason that if populations reduce, space travel and investments into it becomes less relevant or interesting. The main reason to move into space is to get more room for new populations so we can populate the entire galaxy and move forwards. U can't do that when your population is straight up dying out.

And if the west is dying out, so will every other country follow suit sooner or later after they start to develop.

Marriage needs to be incentivized. Laws need to change so if a divorce does happen, it doesn't leave a man broke and empty handed. Male and female roles need to be agreed upon. As some point out, these days it is like two men getting married since nobody wants to do the traditional female roles anymore.
