How rough is the Steins;Gate translation patch out there now? It is worth playing through now or should I wait to see if JAST ever actually releases an English version of the game?

I wonder if anyone will pick up the new tenco VN.

Has anyone tried out Mahou Tsukai no Yoru, Type-Moon's latest project? Someone did a translated version of the demo, and it really does take VNs to the next level. Or rather, the level they should already have been at. Widescreen, HD resolution graphics! Dat parallax scrolling! Surround sound effects! Plus if you like Tsukihime it's kind of peripherally related.

And also, never knew next gen involved completely silent character interactions!
Are the majority of PC VNs this long?
There is no voice acting?
Been playing through Fate/stay night over the last week or so, and about 2/3 through the first route it's getting good. Really dragged at first with a lot of setup and breakfast/dinner scenes, but it has some momentum now.
Sadly the translation is really not "professional quality" (which I need to put in quotes because I'd consider the last two officially translated PC VNs I've played to be far below professional quality) but for the most part it's good enough. It seems pretty clear that for a big bulk of the text they really didn't spend too much time editing, as it wasn't really all that important.
The one H scene I've seen was kind of funny because everyone suddenly starts acting like a character in a porno for a few minutes before going back to normal.
Seems like this whole thing is going to take me 80 hours or so which is quite a bit longer than I'd generally like to spend on a game, but at least it ensures I'll be getting my money's worth for what I had to spend to get this working. Are the majority of PC VNs this long?
I'll have to start taking screenshots. Can you give any particular examples? Because we* did spend a fair amount of time editing and proofreading it.
Yeah, I expected it was the source material's fault. Does Nasu like this kinda stuff, or is he forced to put it in to the stories because VN's seem to need to have it?That... is pretty much due to Nasu's terrible H scene dialogue. We did adhere in a general sort of fashion to what he put, but it took a major amount of rewriting to bring it even to the level of, say, a third rate Penthouse Letters page scene.

What Japan does to famous historical figures.... I find hilarious.

Anyone know how many Visual Novels have been translated in Korean (Hangul)?
I hope the Tsukhime remake happens, because the original game is impossible to find, and the "re-release collection" TsukiBox or w/e is running $200 on Yahoo Auctions right now...
I'm not joking.
So the remake would make it possible to actually get the game again.
Damn didn't even know Tsukihime was getting a remake. Looks it's gonna happen after Mahou Tsukai. I haven't even played Tsukihme yet, I wonder if I play the original or wait for the re-release.
Just play the original, waiting for Nasu to actually do anything with Tsukihime is pointless. Even if it's Type Moon's next project, don't expect a quick turn around, there's like a 7 year gap between hollow ataraxia and Mahou Tsukai.

Nice boob bounces.
Anybody know what is happening with the Akai Ito patch? The site hasn't been updated in over a year.
Saw that MangaGamer announced Eroge! and Otome wa Boku Ni Koishiteru, as well as Magical Teacher (which is stated to release on April 13th) land Dengeki Stryker (which they hope to have out by May with a demo for March/April if everything goes well), plus a release date for DEARDROPS (March 2nd).
There's also the news that their next hard copy will be Kohime Musou and it will be voiced since they were able to clear 2000 sales (between digital copies and hard copies orders from the distributor?).
Got to say, I'm interested in a bit of everything, though Eroge! and the release date for DEARDROPS are what tickle my fancy more.
Funny thing is that there was actually a second company interested in releasing S;G. On consoles, too.
But they haven't responded to either of my two emails these past two months. Guess they weren't serious.
They wanted us to sign contracts before they even attempted to get the license. So we refused, and asked them to either snipe the license from JAST and then talk to us, or to talk to JAST and work something out amongst themselves.
Though, the funny thing is that even if they got it, they're actually more notorious for gratuitous localizations and accidental delays than JAST is. They used to dub songs, and add Bill Clinton jokes. And one of their games was delayed for three years, getting released months after any other game got released for that system.
I won't outright say what company it was, but if you want any other hints, then... "punching puppet".
I wonder what vireland has to say on the subject.Looks like a console release for Steins;Gate in the US might have died.
So who was the publisher?
