Kamidori Alchemy Meister has had a translation patch released. Having played it a bit, it's a blend of SRPG gameplay and dungeon crawling with store management, and item crafting. The translator calls it Atelier Iris 3, the SRPG porn edition. The gameplay seems pretty interesting, even though I'm doubtful the story will be any good.

I'm always interested in SRPGs, thanks for the link!

None of these games are resources-intensive, yeah? Or am I wrong?

Completely doable in a laptop, for example?

Absolutely, I don't think I've ever seen a VN with requirements that would tax even a netbook, let alone a "proper" desktop PC. Well I guess the screen size might be an issue on a netbook mind you.

While looking at the mangagamer board, I saw someone crosspost a part of this from dannychoo.com in regards to Yuzusoft, thought it would be good to quote it here as well:

When visiting Osaka last Summer, I went along to Yuzusoft's office to meet up with the guy who runs operations - Rodo-san. I work with him on the website and other things like this.

Rodo-san and I are interested in exploring ways to get their products to you. My thinking is that the original Japanese product text and language remain untouched but include inline English translations that can be turned on/off which would help one to learn Japanese. I also think that the kanji should have furigana so that you can easily look up words which can be added to a Learn List.

I would add functionality to the International version so that you can export texts or send learned phrases to a mobile device so that you can also learn on the go as well.
If you got any requests regarding how you want eroge to be made more available to you - just name it. If you want to be involved with the production or work in the eroge industry then just leave a comment and list your skillset. If you prefer to work in the anime industry then there is a post for that.

If only I had eroge when I was learning Japanese - probably would have learned much quicker! Back then I didnt even have Internets ToT

Spent some hours with DEARDROPS and I'm loving it. I knew I'd love it after playing the trial, but exactly because of that i stopped playing the trial to not spoil myself too much and I think it was worth it.
All the characters I've been introduced to for now have something nice to them, but Chika is the one i probably like the most. Her half childish half mature (for her age) attitude makes her both cute and funny.
Riho is quite mean so far and I nee to find out why.

Kind of off topic since it's not translated, but since some people seemed interested, there's a demo out for Eiyusenki, the tenco game I posted on the previous page.

It's more of a game though so you can guess for some things in the battle system and enjoy Ashito's art ~

Also no h-scenes in the demo.

Finished the B route of Chaos;Head, making my playthrough complete. Though I see some CG in the gallery is missing, so I guess I haven't seen all the delusions.

I enjoyed it immensely. It's the ultimate mindfuck, with crazy shit happening every 15 minutes or so. There were some story things annoying me, not plotholes, but more like things which seemed a little bit hard to swallow. The B route cleared those up, and I actually don't have any real unanswered questions. Well, maybe a couple things...

I don't think I'll watch the anime, as I'm sure it won't do the game justice. I would like to read the manga sidestories, but it looks like those haven't been totally translated yet :(

I'm really impressed with the patch, all the CG editing that went into this must have been a ton of work, props to everybody that had a hand in this.

I've been meaning to see the B ending, but the skip mode doesn't stop at delusion triggers, so it's kind of a hassle.

It actually stalls for a tiny bit, if you are watching closely you can usually stop in time. Maybe it's just my ancient pc slowing down though.

That PSP port of Dunamis 15 has me frothing with demand. Love the concept. I suppose a PC release is possible given how other 5PB novels were released on consoles first.

The PSP version is getting extra content. There's probably a good chance it'll come to PC after that. Then we just gotta wait a few years for a fan translation :(

Oh wow.... that is so pretty. I really really hope someone translates that, it's beautiful.

Eiyusenki is the #1 game on the Amazon JP adult PC game category! Pretty specific but still nice haha.

I started playing Yume Miru Kusuri, mainly because it got mentioned so many times in 4ch's Katawa Shoujo threads I felt I couldn't ignore it.

Just finished my first route (Mizuki's) and I'm re-evaluating my policy of saving the true best girl 'til last. Ignoring Aeka was more emotionally exhausting than the whole of Mizuki's story.

Show your support people and make it rise!

If I understood the damn thing I'd pick it up before you can say Moe Kill.

Can I ask for suggestions here? I'm looking for a translated visual novel that has a very good story and that's no longer than 10/15 hours. I don't care if it's for adults or not.

Also, preferably, it must be easy to find or to buy as a digital download. Thanks in advance!

we can recommand a lot but what genre do you want ? i don't know what experience wit Vns you have so i might recommand "katawa shojo" but i'm not sure what you have played.
Mystery ? love comedy ? action ? Straight Vn or a hybrid ? Translated and 10-15 hours mark are common.

Or are you referencing to Vns that are not in the first post ?

I have little experience. I played the Christine Love games, A Drug That Makes You Dream and Kana Little Sister and I was very surprised by how compelling the stories were, so I'm trying to get hooked in the genre but I don't have a lot of time to play them. So I'm looking for a short one that's still good.

I'd take any genre except maybe science fiction/futuristic settings, since I don't really like mechs and most anime action. I find that I like romantic (you know, simple or dramatic love stories), mystery and comedy settings more, but I'm open to stuff.

I'll download Katawa Shojo since that was on my list. Apart from that one, I'd still very much welcome your suggestions (being on the first post or not).

EDIT: I missed a comma in the original post, which changed the meaning of a sentence. Please read through this post again.

EDIT: Actually this probably isn't so easy to find so let me look a bit.

G-Senjou no Maou kinda sounds up your alley if you don't mind some harshness towards the characters at some point. It should be around the length you described if you just go for the main route which completes the story which would be Usami's route.

A description:
You play the role of Azai Kyousuke, the son of a legendary gangster infamous in the underworld. You spend your time listening to Bach, playing God at school and covertly working for your stepfather, a ruthless financial heavyweight. This idyllic existence is broken when two individuals appear in the city - a beautiful girl named Usami Haru with hair you could get lost in for days, and a powerful international gangster known only as "Maou". Almost without delay, the two begin a deadly cat-and-mouse game, bringing you and your friends into the crossfire. Plotting, political intrigue and layer upon layer of interlocking traps are the weapons in this epic battle of wits.

Two routes down, one to go in Yume Miru Kusuri. If I'd known Nekoko
was really moe moe librarian girl
then Aeka might've had competition for true route status. Ah well. Anyway I enjoyed her story far more than Mizuki's.

Just received this in the mail:

We're proud to announce the addition of voices for Koihime Musou!

This addition is not a patch. Those who have already downloaded the game
will need to re-download the updated version and install it to their
computers.

We've also updated the trial version with voices as well!

Some people should be pretty happy, i think.

that was annonced in the blog some weeks ago .. i'm personaly waiting for the disc version

Yes it was announced some time ago that they would, but it's now available for people that bought the game before or that buy it from today onward.

^
is that means koihime finally reached 2000 number sold?

Supposedly they did (some months ago?) between the DD and the orders for the boxed game.

And finished Aeka's route (Yume Miru Kusuri). True route status confirmed.
I completely lost it at "Why are you killing her all by yourself?" I, like everyone else who's played this route, would've wrapped my hands around Antoinette's neck as well if it wasn't for the small matter of there being a dimension between us. Those last few scenes are going to be difficult to surpass in terms of pure satisfaction.

Overall, YMK was a great ride, both in terms of its writing and the themes it tackled. Only major complaint would be that it felt comparatively short, not just in its limited number of routes but in the length of the routes themselves. 'Course, I'd rather something be short and engrossing than long and zzz.

i won't lie ..i complained that koihime musou was incomplete and now that it's complete i will buy the disc when it will be available on j-list or other ...

I am so disappointed that nobody's made a significant effort to translate Fate/HA. I want to find out about Kaleido Ruby :(

It's still being worked on, they are at 78% I believe. I worry about it's quality considering how it's being done, it'll probably need a tone of editing.
