Reposting from the other thread.
Jonathan Cooper is an ex-ubisoft animator. He joined Naughty Dog and said some stuff about his previous employer when the female assassins thingy came to light.

Now with this news, an Ubisoft Montreal dev (creative director) tweeted this to him

He waited two years... all for revenge.

This isn't a nod at all. This is misuse of content that is not yours.
lol at ND. They somehow keep doing this. The same thing happened with subway maps in TLOU.

Now what is this picture from?
Quick as fuck. So we can honestly move on now.
Based on some posts in this thread you'd think Its an ND policy to just go around stealing
Now what is this picture from?
Jurassic Park
Now what is this picture from?
I don't think we can move on until they address the situation. A mistake is a mistake but they should own up to it and at the least apologize to Ubisoft. They don't really owe the fans anything, this is more about the making things right with the original creators
Why would an animator be doing concept art? That Ubi guy just made himself look like an idiot.
That pretty definitively puts paid to the "its a homage" or "they just licenced the same image" arguments put forward earlier.

They could have already done that .
Unless you think they need to apologize over the internet .

Wow, that was quick. Hopefully they also apologized to the artist over at Ubisoft.
What I don't get is it would have taken work, even if only a moments, to remove the figure in the original picture. Why not just find a better picture if it was this throw away? Stupid move whoever did that. They should fess up.
Honestly, Naughty dog corporate heads should know better than this. This was stupid. And of course something controversial happened in gaming, Here comes the snarky twitter jokes, I cant wait to see how funny, creative, and utterly miserable everyone is

How would anyone at naughty dog know where that picture came from except the guy who put it there until the Internet blew up?Honestly, Naughty dog corporate heads should know better than this. In our eagerness to get the story trailer out we made a regrettable mistake and didnt thoroughly vet the art work used for an in game painting. Weve already updated the trailer. We hold all artistry in high regard and take full responsibility for having allowed this to happen.
We want to sincerely apologize to everyone at Ubisoft, the Assassins Creed team, the original artist, and our fans.
