Ahaha..well, the gay vote is a strong one with the Eurovision so you never know ;)

I will have to send this to my friend..we were watching a video of one of his drag queen friends that was just hilarious. Maybe this should be his next stop!

I heard Morrisey offered to do our song but the organisation told him he had to take part in a audition thing and he told them to **** off. Maybe they were scared he would be too good for the eurovision.
 
Did anyone watch the UK qualifying thing earlier? It's where the viewers vote form a bunch of songs to pick our representative.

I didn't bother watching the main bit, I didn't really care about the whole thing, but I checked the results show and I'm glad I did.

It came down to a group called Scooch and a woman called Cyndi. They were standing on either side of the hosts (Terry Wogan and Fearne Cotton) and Terry was doing the usual "And the winner is.....the winner is...." *big pause* "....CYNDI!"

Cyndi's overjoyed, her family is screaming, the audience is cheering and clapping, Scooch look destroyed but they're politely clapping...only Fearne Cotton has her finger in her ear. About 5-10 seconds have gone by and she says "No...sorry, sorry...sorry Cyndi, Scooch have won!"

Hahaha, brilliant. Cyndi's crushed, Scooch don't know what the hell's going on...I dunno if Terry mishead or was told the wrong thing, but it was so funny.
 
Yeah, and no-one had the manners to apologize properly to the girl! Felt sorry for her as the mistake dawned on her and she had to quietly walk off the stage. Her song was rotten though haha! The tune was a rip of some scottish folk songs, inc. "i'll take the high road" or something.

They were all pretty hopeless, personally I'd have selected either Big Brovaz (spelling?) or Hawking/Brown. Purely because I have developed raging brown fever. Don't judge me!

You seem to be operating under the mistaken belief that the UK wants to win. Selecting Scooch proves that this is not the case.

but I wonder if the humour will only reach french-speaking people, with all the accent mimicking and all... (this group is known for making fun of a small regional accent, from a region in France I grew up in, by the way :) of course it wouldn't work for Eurovision).

I'm just really happy that we finally managed to jump off the train of sillyness we started with Guildo Horn. 70s costumes, COME ON!

But German lyrics, forget it. We could have had a slight chance with Monroes imo.

Anyway, neither of the bigger countries is goin to win, it's all about the politics...
 
spain's entry is flat out the most ****ing horrible thing i've ever listened to. just the idea of sending in a boy band in 2007 is appalling

Oddly there were 4 or 5 songs i quite liked tonight, usually there'd be maybe 2 in the whole thing. I voted for Belarus, Iceland, and Slovenia (yeah...) Like last year i think iceland was robbed. But I'm pleased Hungary got through and that Harry Potter woman from serbia.

I have no idea why people vote for garbage like that god-awful Bulgarian song ...
