A frame trap is when you space out attacks in a way where the opponent thinks he can press a button but your move will always come out faster and beat him.
example
If I hit you with an attack that is +3 on block and you're fastest attack is 4 frame startup while mine is 4. It means after you block I have 3 extra frames to do something before you can even do anything but giving you the illusion that you can while my attack will come out faster than yours.
