Expect “6-10 years before 8K adoption is really widespread” says BenQ (People are still catching up to 4K)

PS5 does 8K, it's on the box. PS7 will do 32K, it will say so on the box.

I'm glad I got an 8K PS5 box before they took 8K off the box.

Ray tracing killed any hope of making 4k the norm. I mean true4k not that NVIDIA DLSS bullshit everyone always raves about. So yeah, 8k never happening.

TV manufacturers really need something to sell new TVs cause size and resolution really hit a wall, over 75" I'd just consider a Projector and there are some very good ones for less than $1500

the only way 8K will become widespread is if TV manufacturers stop making good 4K screens, and make their top end 8K only. basically forcing 8K TVs into homes.

8K is not even remotely a resolution that anyone actually needs.

Cant see 8K ever being mainstream. Its simply not required when 4k is enough and that isnt even the standard yet. (Outside films)

played Pubg on my 4k 240hz monitor the other day and was suprised how bad the image clarity is for everything thats not within 10meters of the camera. like 30-40meter away.
The details are there but there are just not enough pixxels. I see native 4k, upscaled to 8k to solve this. So, when there are 8k Monitors and i have pretty much every game with modern Upscale techniques, i would be interested in a 8k 500hz panel.

500hz or more so i can do 200hz+ native and use Frame Gen for the silky smoothness while having no noticable inputlag.
