Kojima on O.D "Something Totally Different" - People Will Either Love it or Hate it. Real Evaluations Will Come After 10, 20 Years.

His personality quirks aside (which I honestly think are overexaggerated on Internet), I played (and REPLAYED) enough of Kojima's games to know that whatever he has in store, I will most likely enjoy it if I decide to give it a chance.

Hell, might be right since MGS1 and 2 are still unbelievable in what message they try to send/share. It wouldn't be the first time that some work was found out brilliant long after it came out, anyways.

When did Kojima actually become the way he is now? It feels like he thinks he's a Mastermind who does everything well, and those who don't understand it are 20 Years behind.

Sorry that I don't want to invest 40+ hours in a Walking Simulation where i find the characters awful, and don't understand the story because the developer himself doesn't. :D The cutscenes are long and boring.

His last good game was Metal Gear 3. Part 4 was technically very good, but there were too few opportunities to exploit it because it was more cutscene-oriented and the levels felt more like a Linear Movie Game.

I think Kojima is just wasting a lot of Sony/Microsoft Money. I was a big Kojima fan, but now I just find him annoying. He wasted 10 years on DS1 and DS2 to indulge his obsession. And the Kojima Defense Alliance will invoke Kojima Article 5 every time Kojima is criticized, which only makes him continue to believe he's God.

Dude is obviously full of himself and probably annoying to work with (which I think was the reason Konami fired his ass) but I am glad he gets to use Sony's money on stuff like Death Stranding. Not my cup of tea personally, but I am glad it exists.

I was thinking the same thing, working with this man most be a nightmare…

My game is so deep, people will only understand its true worth in 10 or 20 years. As if he's certain it'll even stay relevant that long. C'mon man. I love your games Koji-san but seriously.

And this is why idiots like Kojima are allowed to keep making games. Reminds me the MCU garbage that the same folk keep seeing all the movies, despite hating them.

You are the fucking problem! The guy has been allowed to make two FedEx simulators!
He had a great track record tho, it's not like just idiots bought the games he made for the sake of it, but after he left Konami and the whole controversy behind that, he was championed as the "misunderstood creator that couldn't finish the perfect game because evil Konami didn't let him" and that elavated his ego to the stratosphere with this result, 2 walking sims being sold as "revolutionary", if made by any other studio, would get panned left and right

I don't understand the hate Kojima gets at all. I'm not a big fan of anything he's done in the past ten years but he's one of the few people who treat games like an artform and sometimes manages to have original ideas instead of just churning out safe designs that are guaranteed to sell. So he talks like an artist, I'm glad we've still got some

He catches flak because most people don't play video games for the art. They play video games because they want to relax and have fun. Kojima's "artistry" is often too complex for the medium.

MGS V :

- Go to the desert
- Save hostage
- Evacuate
- Go to the desert
- Save hostage
- Evacuate

"Oh new map unlocked, great !"

- Go to the new desert
- Save hostage
- Evacuate
- Go back to the new desert
- Save hostage
- Evacuate

Hideo Kojima : I'm a Genius

I think he's making a GaaS so his success for it is whether it is still around after 10-20 years like GTA and Fortnite.
