That's the real deal. She's freaked out because she has temporarily become deaf. I just hope it's back to normal now. I've been in a similar situation before and you become too shocked for dramatic screams or gestures.

Agreed... if it was a regular house fire I could see doing it at a safe distance but they had to know it was the fertilizer plant and you get the hell away as quickly as possible.
Hopefully the girl's hearing is ok.

People might be confusing the term casualty and dead maybe? A small town like that, they probably know or will know how many first responders got dispatched out there. It's pretty much a common thing for incident command to know how many are out there and you'll hear stuff like Egine 30 with 12 responding or Copmany 6 responding with a crew of six when stuff is dispatched. But, yeah, it's probably way too early for stuff like death and injury tolls to be confirmed. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few reporters out there when that thing blew.

Holy shit. That's insane how close he is to that explosion. Also I think this begs the question of why would you densely pack an area around a fertilizer plant? Seems like putting Doctor's Offices and Retirement homes around it would be a bad idea, no?
