Extraction 2 is one of the best action movies I have seen in a long while

The big set pieces are just amazing, heart pumping. Sure the “story” is not that big of a deal but Hemsworth really bring the goods and the movie is shot beautifully, I am usually not a fan of action movies but this is top notch, highly recommended.

I'm not a fan of most Netflix movies, most give me that "not good enough for a cinema release so it's on Netflix instead" feeling. The first Extraction movie was different, that was in the same class as John Wick and Nobody. Looking forward to watching this.

Ya first one was surprisingly good. Not even sure if I finished it though….I think I missed the ending.

They are both great movies, and possibly Hemsworth's best movies. Super fun.

That was fucking amazing. Its the best action movie I've seen since The Raid 2. Shits all over John Wick for me.

That one-shot scene was simply TOP TIER. Wow. WOW.

Watch it on a big OLED and pump up the bass/volume.

They literally made the Uncharted 2 train set piece into a one-shot action sequence. Fan fucking tastic.

You see how pleased I am with movies? Im not just some grumpy fuck.

I also liked it, they were leaning heavely on the one cut action pieces. The jailbreak, the train...

Very cool.

Only thing I didnt like was when he got up on the train and the chopper didn't shoot at him while he was spraying the train cars.

I've avoided this movie since all the Netflix action flicks I've tried so far were just awful. Are these actually great?
Lots of these comments have me very interested, but then I see the Russo bros mentioned here and I think of Avengers and The Gray Man, and then I'm much less interested. They did produce Everything Everywhere though, and I liked Cherry. Anyone got any assurances for me?

Excited for what they do next, obviously therell be another. Bit of a shame it doesnt gather big attention because its straight to netflix. A tier movie.

I haven't even seen the first movie yet, because I can't recall anything big budget (and action oriented) from Netflix I would say I liked.

I liked the first part and watched it 2 times. The second is also good, but you can tell that it was never planned. The story is almost non-existent and the villain has been seen 100 times in other movies/games. The film was fun in the end, but it was much weaker than the first part.

The first Extraction movie was much better than The Gray Man. I wasn't able to sit through that stupid, over produced piece of crap.

Saw it last night. I think the 1st was much better.

The 2nd tries too hard to be more bombastic and check all the action boxes that came natural in the 1st. Coregraphy is also very lacking in too many scenes (i get it was a great effort, long one shot scenes, etc, but it is what it is..)
Also the personal story is shoved in, and just not very well done.

Still, a very well done action movie. They will probably put out an Extraction movie every couple of years now.

First one I was cool. I could watch it from start to finish, no breaks.

This one, so far, I'm in like the third break. Some dialogue and plot developments are funny but I don't think that they were intended as such. Still.

I never heard of the first film. My wife was obsessed because a Georgian arm wrestler has a cameo (Vakhtang). I was impressed by many Georgian actors Netflix brought in. The way they talk, act, and the whole shepherd plot was authentic. I was even more shocked when Chris Hemsworth kinda started speaking georgian. The cinematography was outstanding and the fights were more brutal than I expected. Its my favorite action movie of the 2020s so far.

First one was better than it should have been. Great pacing too, gave you time to breath in between. Second one, watched it yesterday, was just a tiny bit over the top. Felt like non-stop action and yes, the finale felt a bit attached.

Sure the 21 minute “one take” was done incredibly well, but come on, hiding from the helicopters bullets behind a ladder?

You need emotional investment and creativity to sustain such an action-heavy movie, and this doesn't have either. Some pretty good set pieces but the extremely low effort storytelling paired with awkwardly bad CG and action scenes that go on and on make it feel more like a video game I'd rather be playing than watching. Hemsworth goes through the motions professionally but dryly and we never really see him on the edge, or being cool, or daring. Give me something to work with here.

I am very tired of The Raid or John Wick approach to filming some exhaustive and drawn out action scene. If the action allowed itself to breath with carefully shot and edited scenes this could have been something special. Instead everything is diluted because of it.

The story was also dog shit. Normally I dont care but not everything needs some deeper meaning. A merc with a dark past seeking redemption through his work was all we really needed to explore.

Forgot this dropped. Just watched the first one a few weeks back and was very pleasantly surprised. Plan to watch 2 this weekend.

my man Hemsworth likes him some AFL!
Can't say I really felt one way or the other about his estranged wife and child he abandoned, or that scrawny brother getting wasted. Didn't think Hemsworth had much range here, either. But action sequences were largely though out well and it was good to see some hard earned kills, a bit like John Wick.
Idris Elba is an awesome actor but he's not really utilised here. Maybe setting him up for the inevitable sequel?

Hemsworth lacks the charisma and the character to elevate these movies (imagine swapping him out for Idris Elba…. See?), but some solid action set pieces make for a decent two hours.

A little less CGI, and a little more attention to character would make the third movie even better. As would better script writing that doesn’t feel generated by an AI.

I’ll certainly watch the next one. My bet on who he works for is Robert Downey Jnr.
