No, there’s never been a character creator in Fable.
Your actions affect the look of your character, but it’s always been a preset (male only in 1, male or female in 2 and 3).

Where gameplay? It’s all cutscenes. At most you see some walking and qtes. Don’t call it gameplay if it isn’t even the focus of the trailer.

This is how it is for a lot of "gameplay" reveals. Assassins Creed pulled the same thing. Gameplay for me means a few minutes showing natural progression, not what I call cinematic gameplay. I don't see many trailers doing that anymore, until after the game is released.

This should've been the reveal trailer. I think they are trying to steer away from the original unveiling after it's less than stellar reception and made some improvements to the MC design, while completely ignoring this time around the "she is ugly" angle. I think it does feel a little more generic as a result, but the game itself looks quite impressive. If it wasn't for the stupid previous trailer I think people would be having a much better reception to it this time. I'm curious to see what the end result is once the game comes out.

PG started this project in 2018, full 6 years ago while actually bleeding a lot of talent.
For me, trailer was ok, but if it’s a 2025 project where the hell is an actual vertical slice demo. It’s very hard to impress with in-engine cutscenes and city shots because this stuff is already good in the majority of AAA games.

She's not doing weird faces that are tough to replicate in CG. The first trailer she's like Jim Carrey with the silly faces. Her face is mostly neutral in the latest trailer so it doesn't stretch believability.
