This is what the ticker should be used for - and makes way more sense considering they're not just going for the stalker-aspect if they're planning on rolling out a music service soon (tomorrow?).

Tomorrow no doubt, along with the new buttons. It's not even 24 hours, and I'm already looking at my ticker as much my main feed. The ticker is making more and more sense.

It's funny, earlier today I installed a Chrome extension to remove it. I was missing a lot of stuff.

I find it funny that Google+ opened to the public the same day as the Facebook changes. I wonder which was planned first.

Im wouldn't be surprised if Facebook had spies inside Google, and vice versa. Especially FB, considering all the people they've poached from Google.

it's not a minor difference, but it's not like privacy settings have changed without people knowing. if you have your settings set to public then you should expect anyone to be able to see your stuff
 
My Top News seemed to have disappeared. When I logged into the new change this morning, yes, I had 'Top News', then 'From Earlier Today'. But once I got new posts, 'Recent Stories' came on top updating as per normal. Now my feed is now in totally in reverse chronological order. And the ticker just shows everything and more. Hopefully, when I log on later, it doesn't revert to Top News/random recent stories again.
 
This was the last straw for me. I'm deactivating my account tomorrow.

I suspect I'll return, but I'm going to make an effort to go Google+/Twitter instead.

This has been the year of ragequit for me.

That was my first thought when I saw the new changes.

Can't say I'm a fan of them, but I'm rather indifferent. I'll keep using it less and less like I've been doing.

But Google+ and Twitter have such a small user base compared to Facebook, at least in my circle. I don't have any close friends who use either.
 
What time is the Facebook F8 event? It's September 22nd here now.

That music service sounds great, I'm hoping for the iPad app as well.

How do I make photos only visible to MY FRIENDS ..

I've seen other photos that are taken of me be shared with friends of only the person who uploaded.

However when i uploaded a photo today.. it tells me the photo will be shared by my friends + the friends of the people being tagged? how can I get it like I want..
 
New update is a mess, everyone on my list hates it, everyone on my back up facebook hates it..

Looks like it but I haven't actually tried the alternative.

I've never complained about fb updates and I don't intend on starting. This new one isn't very smart though.

The only annoying part about the ticker is it's now filled with whining about the layout.

Facebook doesn't owe me anything. If they want the page to be filled with ponys and rainbows, let them do it.
 
I wouldn't mind the new news feed if it were possible to disable the "top stories" section. Selection seems to be completely arbitrary.

Easy peasy lemon squeezey. Click the little triangle on the upper left and that will get rid of top stories similar to the one you're seeing.

Diipu, I hope you realize whoever made that has no idea what he or she is talking about.

You know what never adapted or changed? Myspace. Facebook wants to stay fresh and relevant.

When it changes again, people will be saying, "Bring back the old ticker! I miss the old layout!" Watch.

I dont mind changes to Facebook but the fundamentals of design have been blatantly disregarded in these revisions.
 
Ugh. New layout has invaded Japanese as well - no language is safe! What a clusterfuck. This is ridiculously annoying. Checking my updates but The wall is just... insanely hard to look at.
 
I don't use Facebook.

However; I empathize with all the times YouTube has changed front pages just as I've gotten used to the previous version. It's really annoying because they usually make something harder to get to with each changing layout.
 
i was out walking my dog today when this guy tried to steal my wallet, i looked him in the eye and said "you're trash, so i'm going to put you where you belong" and then i roundhouse kicked him into the garbage cans.

10 minutes later the police arrive, the chief comes up to me and says "good job kid, we've been trying to catch this guy for weeks". i looked him dead in the eye and took of my shades and said "maybe if you werent in dunkin'donuts stuffing yourself you would have".

i went home and ate cereal.
 
Usually I don't have a problem with the facebook updates - except when they made it harder to save pictures, but this is something else. Waaaay too much information on the page. I'm getting claustrophobic.

EDIT: wow this "lists" thing is totally not a rip off of google+'s circles.

What will we get? Music service that can be shared with friends? Will the iPad app become available? What is your guesses?

It's nowhere near MySpace levels. I dunno I don't have a problem with it after using it for a few hours. People freak out like this every time they make an update - no one will care in a week or two.
