Um, apparently, you can now see what exactly someone removed from their profile.

I think that's a little much :/

Does it mention that a field was edited? or exactly what was removed?

Such as if I remove...... Looking for... random play...
It would normally say that I edited "looking for". And then of course once you get to my profile "Looking for" wouldn't be there.

Or is it different now?

It displays that. However, you can remove that entry by clicking the little "x".

Why the **** would you want people to know you edited your profile that much?

Deleting shit on your minifeed should also mean it doesn't show on the main news feed. I don't see the point of deleting it if it's still gonna show up for everyone to see somewhere else.
That's not the case?

Facebook tells me a fellow gaffer knows two of my engineering buddies..... shiiiiiet real world and gaf world are colliding :O!

They changed the layout, I don't like it, I liked having all the links on the left, plus the font for the links is huge now, the old layout was sleeker :(

I have found no such gaf-connections which did not already exist =(

There are more features now. Networks get their own friggin pages! You can also edit notes like you can on forums (vbulliten or whatever the **** that shit is called).

I made the FIRST post on the Cleveland, OH network wall! :D
Third on Ohio State :/

Everyone in my school is obsessed with it. People were using it so much that the school have blocked access to it.

Facebook is ****ing great.

And those complaining about it being too stalkerish or having no privacy, no. It has fantastic pirvacy options. If you want, you can make it look like you don't even exist to people that YOU don't add as friends. Literally, other people can't even see comments you leave on other people's profiles.

It's just the best social networking site on the Internet, hands down. MySpace a slow and unworkable piece of shit. They even tried copying Facebook's photo album features, except it' horrible, unorganized, and you can't tag people (which MySpace said you would be able to do).

That said, there's a few things about Facebook's new layout that bug me, like the left hand links bringing you to your friend's stuff instead of your stuff, but the good thing about Facebook is that they actually listen to people and make changes. Overall, the new look is good, just takes some getting used to.

.. But could they PLEASE take the "is" out of the status update? Christ.

At least 10 friends of mine have been nagging on me to join Facebook. My family recently started too. I never will. I'm just as nerdy as anyone else, so i dont pretend to be cooler or anything, but its glorified pointlessness scares the shit out of me. Say what you will, but the new generation is turning out to be all about self-importance and disguised insecurity. Pictures, blogs, statuses, nicknames, public messaging, daily events that ultimately, nobody really cares about. I mean, GAF is the first to dish out the "Attention whore" label as soon as some B-list celebrity whores themselves in front of cameras. I dont see anything different with facebook. Myspace is worse, because it makes morons believe they're actual visual artists by letting them customize their page, and what we get are overstretched flashing pages that cause epilepsy.

Yes, i take life too seriously and all that jazz, i heard it all before, nyaha, suck me.

There's no real blogging capability on facebook (which is probably why I don't mind it, Myspace FTL). It's more of a tool to keep updated on how people are doing. The 'Holy crap he's married?' feeling never gets old.

haha, agreed. It just makes you put ING words after it. Lame.

But as far as the purpose of Facebook, I just find it to be an easy way to share pics, stories, and keep in touch with some people you would otherwise never talk to. It's so much easier to just drop someone a line on their wall if you haven't talked to them for a while than calling them on their phone or something.

What are you talking about? There's the "Notes" feature which also allows you to automatically import RSS feeds from things like LiveJournal and Xanga.

Exactly what I did. Saves having to copy/paste your crap over there if you have a real blog.

Yeah, I've got it set to import my LJ updates.. not that I post on there much these days. This new visual update will take some getting used to.

Exactly. This is why Facebook rules, and is so much more effective than MySpace.

facebook is nice. Sometimes though i feel wierd sending friend requests to people I barely knew. I sorta feel like a stalker. It has come in handy though, when a former classmate got breast implants and showed them off in her facebook.
went from flapjacks to this:

the more i see it, the more I think the facelift was so that the left-banner ad is a bit more in-your-face. it used to be hidden pretty low on the screen, now its unavoidable.

Yeah, there's one on the side of the page and usually there's one somewhere in your news feed, although they don't really bother me at all, unlike the 20 you see on your Myspace start page.

a ton of new applications, most of them don't work but its a good start
