No last.fm yet, but there is somethign called iLike which sounds similar according to the description. Does anyone know where I go to change it to show say 5 stories in my Mini-Feed. Can I do that?

iLike just lets you add tracks you like, and people can listen.
It sits in a box on your page underneath your mini-feed, and also shows artists you like who are on tour, and which shows you are going to.

I'll add the Last.fm app when it arrives, otherwise I see nothing that looks even remotely interesting.

Yeah they've been working on this shit for awhile, I checked out the developers group once or twice.

To me this is the latest in a string of death knell's for Facebook. Although more of my friends are on it than myspace and since so many are graduated it is still a decent way to keep track of people.

Just wait for the real thing.

Agreed, I did eventually get that 2nd one to work...

But, all it does is take weekly, no options, and has a big 'xat's plugin' bullshit title...

comon last.fm, make my dreams come true...

Well talking about applications... There is a new application call Trakzor:

Want to know who is viewing you on facebook? How about who is viewing your friends? If so, click above to install the Trakzor application. Here's how it works... When you signup, we create a personal Trakzor profile page for you that lives within facebook. Whenever someone visits this page, they’ll see all the other people who have been there, and they’ll be added as a visitor. How will this help you identify who visits your facebook profile? Because the people who visit your Trakzor page are likely the same people who visit your core facebook profile. Here's why people will want to go to your Trakzor page... Simply put, they're interested in you. When they visit your facebook, they’ll go to your pictures, they'll read your notes. And, they’ll check out your Trakzor page. Why? Because it’s a representation of all the people who go to your facebook profile! Duh! You're not the only who wants to know who vists you! When they check that out, they'll be added to the list of recent viewers, and the cycle continues… To jump start the process, the best thing you can do is form a group of your close friends, all sign up for Trakzor, and start visiting each other’s Trakzor pages. This will populate your visitor list and will give all your other facebook profile visitors a reason to go to your Trakzor page. Their curiosity about who views you leads to more identified views for you! So, it’s not straight profile tracking, and frankly, it shouldn’t be. The goal is to create an environment in which no one’s privacy is violated, but individuals can still see who is interested in whom, and thus, you can see who visits your facebook profile. This, in essence, is Trakzor for facebook. Recruit your friends, build your Trakzor visitor lists up, and try it out for a week or two. Once you have something your “other” facebook visitors want to see, you may be surprised when you see who is checking out whom :)

Well... What do you guys think...

That Trakzor crap is ****ing creepy. I hope nobody starts using that.

BTW, the last.fm official app is up now.

holy crap. i deleted my facebook account 2 years ago in college when teachers started getting wind of it and checking students' pages. i figured they'd expel me with all the drug references/groups [i was in a childhood ed program].

the other reason i hated facebook was because all these people from my past (high school, etc) who i hated/hated me were adding me. u know what, i don't WANT them to know what i'm up to. they have no interest in being friendly, because i never got an actual message or anything, they just want to plump up their friends list and spy on people from a distance out of morbid curiosity.

from glancing through this thread it seems like the stalking features are totally out of control. i want none of that =/

I agree with this and think this facebook thing is a joke. I "tried" to give it a chance but when you send messages to these long lost friends from elementary and they don't respond, it really shows why you lost touch with them in the first place.

MSN, made social interactions bad enough as it is, now facebook takes it down to a whole new level. Do people seriously keep in touch with all 150 of their "friends"?

Of my 50 friends, only a handful wished me happy birthday. It's a useless friends collecting system. And don't get me started on the stalking capabilities you're granted on that system. :/

That's a pretty stupid way of determining the strength of a friendship.

i don't think it is. birthdays are important, especially when you're young [like we are =D]. good friends go out of their way to not only wish someone a happy birthday, but celebrate with them if they can be there! **** the rest.

Oh, the hyperbole.

Some of you need to realize that it is almost impossible to be "stalked" thanks to the security features of Facebook.

The news feed and all of that? People get annoyed just by hearing the idea, but it doesn't have to affect you if you don't want it to. Nothing is out of control on Facebook, they've handled things perfectly.

Well, it's finally here. An application that lets you see who's been viewing your profile. Trakzor

Facebook is no longer anonymous :lol

Now I'm trying to see if I can make it so where my friends don't know that I have this application. :lol

EDIT: Meh...it only works for those who have it, meaning that unless the person viewing your profile has the application, it won't record the viewing.

Sullichin said:

Yeah...I messed around with it and was VERY disappointed. :lol

I had my brother log onto his account, view my profile, and log out. Then, I logged onto my account to see if there was a record of it.

What a bunch of crap. I've already removed the application. It's pretty pointless if EVERYONE has to have the damn application for it to work right. That's not how you secretly keep tabs on people! :lol

The application thing started out nifty, but I hate it now.

It has great potential and it's nice to have some apps like audio and flickr but the idiots who install all the gimmicky applications drive me crazy. I'm ashamed to have people on my friends list who do that shit.

Yeah, I only have an audio one and flixster.

But I get requests for Am I Hot and Horoscopes and Fortune Cookies and all kinds of shit.

Is it me, or can't you add courses anymore?
Odd bump, but still. Yes you can't add 'em anymore. They've been shipped out to the idiotic applications. Which completely defeats the purpose, because they're so many different apps. So you can't search people unless you look at all of them (assuming everyone has one, which they don't)

Dumb dumb dumb.
