awesome pictures. gf and i did chichen itza about 8 years ago. we rented a car from the resort and drove 2+ hours through the yucatan. born and raised in LA so i'm used to aggressive driving but holy shit that was an adventure.Fui a Cancún la semana pasada!
The resort was great. Stayed at the Royalton.
My first time swimming in the ocean! It was salt in excess. Made new friends who only appreciated me for my salt
Went to see Chichén Itzá (1 out 7 wonders traveled)
Spanish class came in handy. I was able to actually converse with people, which helped out considering my parents don't know any Spanish. Waiters kept offering me their extensive wine collection. I'm not certain how aged I appear. All in all, a splendid trip. First time out of the U.S. in this hemisphere.

That's about ~200 meters from the finish after a 7km run. The woman behind me was actually the fastest woman participating. She did it in 31:16. I crossed the finish line at 31:45. She didn't pass me again, she's completely done there. But she started about half a minute later so that's why she's actually faster than me, even though she crossed the finish line after I did.
I ended up being 55th out of 1221 contestants. If I were a woman that would have gotten me a podium position (third place)

It seems that I am also ready to support new life to get a job since people need to have their maternity leave. I did warn some of my ex colleagues that I might have been piercing condom packets on their nearby stores with needles.
