Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered heading to Steam on January 29

Didn't Cage once say that looking back he doesn't know what he was thinking with the 3rd act of this game?

I thought a remaster would give him that opportunity to fix that story.

hey i just bought this and for some reason it just doesnt work. just loads a blank screen...anyone have any help for me?

"As a word of warning, at the moment this game seems to save your game based on your steam name. What this means is that changing your name causes the game to forget where your save is, and if you have any quotation marks, question marks, or any punctuation that isn't allowed in a windows folder name, the game just freezes after you choose your language at the start."

Saw that in a steam review. Just thought it might help in case that is the issue.

This game straight up provides the most idiotic, stupid, and downright insulting story twist in the all history of video games.

Which can be fun or not depending on your mood, I suppose.

Worst game I ever finished. Not the worst game I ever played, but the worst one I played all the way through. Despite the jank and the awful QTEs, I think I was compelled to see how the batshit crazy story ended.

I love the idea of QD games, I just wish it was someone else developing them.

Glad it's been refreshed and made available for those that enjoy it though.

I have never played this game but remember that people used to recommend it when it was new. For the best possible experience, should I play it on iPhone, iPad or Mac? Would appreciate an answer thanks.

Yeah my steam name doesn't have any of those things. It doesn't even load, I just get a blank screen...

The main gameplay is basically simon says for 2 hands, so ultimately pick either your keyboard or your fingers as your main input method and go with that.

The beginning is great. Shame about the end.
And the middle.

Exactly this! The beginning was really awesome at this time, the rest of the game go to medium to meh for the ending.

I still have my original copy somewhere, I could be tempted to buy one on Xbox One/360 or android but seem the release on console is not planed yet which is strange.

It says that it supports Xbox One controllers with wires. So I can just insert my usb cable from Xbox One controller and play Fahrenheit on my Mac with it???

I think I actually would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had known it was coming. Would have had all the laughs without those few moments of frustration over ever getting sucked into the story in the first place. Then again, I would have missed out on the "surprise" aspect of it...

This stupid game, it comes back just when I thought it was finally erased from my memory.

*Earlier, Carla and her partner Tyler*

Carla: "This case is strange."
Tyler: "This case is ****ed up"

*Enter Tyler's wife, Sam*

Tyler: "Hey Sam, what's happening?"
Sam: Screw your job. I have a ticket to Buffalo or some place like that, and the train leaves in an hour. If you don't come with me you don't love me."
Tyler: "Lets go. Hey Carla?"
Carla: "Yes?"
Tyler: I'm just going to cave into my girls ultimatum and quit my job and sell flowers in Buffalo. All in the period of 2 minutes i decided this"
Carla: "Fine"

*Later on*

Helpful Psychic: "Good job Lucas. You've saved the Jade Child. Now hand her over to me so I can protect her."

[you get a choice to say yes or no] either way:

HP: "Hahahaha i'm not really this psychic that has been helping you through two thirds of the game. I AM FROM THE INTERNET! I AM REALLY A HUMAN SHAPED TRANSLUCENT YELLOW THING THAT WAS BORN IN THE 80's WHEN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WAS ACCODENTALLY CREATED!! NOW HAND OVER THE CHILD"
Lucas: "...what is going on?"
Carla: "LUCAS!! OVER HERE!!"
Carla: "QUICK LUCAS! DONT ASK QUESTIONS! JUST FOLLOW THAT HOMELESS MAN INTO THE SEWER"

*They do so*

Homeless man: "Good we're safe. Hello Lucas, I am a homeless person. Me and other homeless people you see on the street aren't really impoverished people! We're called....THE INVISIBLES!! Yes Lucas. Homeless people have been secretly living underground in the sewers waiting for prophecies!"
Lucas: "This is a joke right? Listen, I'm going to go back there and get some sleep. And when I wake up you guys better have sobered up!"

Carla: "I'll come with you. Even though I was a cop trying to convict you for murder during the first 2/3 of the game, currently suspecting that you are a member of the walking dead, and I've really only known you on a personal basis for a few hours: i think it would totally be beneficial if we had sex right now."

So I was also not a fan of the game towards its end. I still believe something happened to the writer, it is possible he was captured by aliens and they hired some teenager to write the rest.

It could be interesting to revisit the madness, mess with it, discover new things that are stupid that got overshadowed. It's just such a weird, intensely memorable love/hate game. Perhaps the closest we'll ever get to a The Room of video games.
But fuck, that stealth flashback... In my memory it is one of the worst sections of any game I've ever played.

I bought it.

The controller support is surprisingly poor considering it's one of the "key upgrades". I kind of wonder what they did here compared to the original version. I guess maybe they made it default to a decent layout so you don't have to bind the buttons? It's not that big of a deal, it does support the 360 controller, it's just odd that it doesn't support it as well as you'd expect.

The 360 controller is recognized just as "Game Controller".
If you rebind "Switch Character" or "Run", which are on the B and A buttons by default, you'll change which buttons accept and cancel in the menus.
The triggers are not recognized.
The game does not detect the controller if you turn it on after having started the game, have to restart.
The black and white prompts won't accept controller input, "Sure you want to quit?" type ones. Have to use mouse or keyboard. Does this invalidate its claims of having "full controller support"?

Many of the textures are indeed much higher res though, so that's good. Was just reminded you're supposed to be able to switch on the fly with F9. See what that does.
-----

It's weird. Sometimes there's blatantly better textures, like the walls in the living room, or his clothes. Sometimes I'm not sure which one's "SD" or "HD". Sometimes I think they both are? HD version textures that are unchanged look worse because it's missing this grain filter which appears to add some detail in the SD version. Or maybe some SD textures are just straight up better?

The HD one is the one where the floor looks grungy.

And those boxes. But the wall looks nicer.

SD? HD? You tell me.
