I'm not sure. Maybe he was interested in the offer because of the premise? Maybe he liked the idea of the material even if the execution in the manga is left wanting? If I ever read an interview where he talks about why he decided to adapt it, I'll let you know, but honestly, bad material didn't stop Ando before. See: Canaan. (._.)

I'm pleasantly surprised, what with all the negativity surrounding the OP, and the duckroll hype train being used for evil. With that prevailing sense of hate, it's hard not to go into this, wanting to write it off completely.
I had similar preconceptions based solely on the character design of Rikka, for obvious reasons. But its played (relatively) straight, and what I perceived as something that was going to become overbearing (her weird tenancies and foibles), is actually interesting in isolation. Yes, it's the first episode, so I'm going to try and refrain from making any sweeping statements just yet. So as long as certain aspects are used well, It could prove to be an entertaining show. But it'd be foolish not to retain some feeling of trepidation before I've seen more of what it has to offer.
It probably helps that Yuuta is continually trying to beat the weirdness out of Rikka too! It's difficult to dislike the victim after all.
Like I said, it can still go sour very quickly. For the time-being though, I can at least say that It's enjoyable.

I took it as a tendency to not abandon your attachment to your earlier flights of fancy. It mentions as much in the opening narration, a greater awareness of the world around you generally occurs as as become more mature. Here, it is instead used to indulge those childish imaginings further.
Basically, a refusal to grow up, or at least, towards that notion of conformity.
Haha, I did too, but I'm not sure if what I remember of Inukami makes me feel better about the lineup.
Well, I'll still try K with relatively neutral expectations because I haven't really been paying too much attention to it anyway.

I think most shows are starting this week. Next week does have a few big ones though, like both noitaminA shows, and some smaller ones like Girls und Panzer and Medaka Abnormal. I think by the end of this week it'll be quite explosive.
