And there's no answer. SAO singlehandedly justifies everything bad that everyone has ever said about Japan. People who hate anime are right. It's the shittiest medium of shit ever shat out by shitty people preying on even shittier consumers. And I say that as someone half-ironically playing an iOS game where I can pretend I'm talking to characters from Aria.
I mean, I forgot the atrociousness that was episode 1 and 2 because of the overall shittiness of the last 10 or so episodes. But this episode reminded of how self-destructive this hobby can be and of how SAO represents everything that is wrong with not just Japanese nerdery, but nerdery in general.
Fuck man. This is a show that makes I Want To Fuck My Brother look like high art. How is that even possible?
Just... Jesus Christ man... I don't even fucking know.

Little Busters is looking like it may rival Angel Beats in terms of being unwatchable crap. I guess I should probably stop waiting for another Kanon 2006/Clannad AS-quality show from them.

Wow amazing first episode. Hopefully this show doesn't devolve into stupid painful romance shit. But damn that first episode was great, especially the first 9 minutes or so. The rest of the episode is pretty good too, a nice introduction with a light tone and yet obviously not all that light hearted at all. Can't imagine that peaceful atmosphere is going to last much longer.
Only real complaint is how awful that ending is. Song is fine but damn thats the laziest ending I've seen in a long time. That wasn't like the actual ending for the show was it?
Ao for cutest character this year. They should have at least had him sport the skirt for awhile . Anyway episode was essentially on the level of any fandoms fanfict prompt of "suddently character must dress as a girl for secret mission x," and then just tons of random moments to take advantage of their situation. Plot wasnt satisfying in comparion to the anime but it was still hilarious and I liked seeing Ao in all these occasions, kudos to Elena and Fleur, and even Gazelle team for supporting him through it.
The fight against the secret was awesome, all my favorite songs playing successively
.
Ah and Star Driver reference?
and there was a Soul Eater one too I think (cosplay)
From The New World 01

You watched the satellite broadcast, I take it? No, that wasn't the real ending; the terrestrial broadcast of the first episode added in the real ED animation and the satellite broadcast started using it in the second episode. You can see it, albeit in a less-than-ideal YouTube video, here; it's one of the best EDs I've seen.
To celebrate the third awesome show by David Productions in a row (after Inu x Boku and Ben-To), I decided to give one of their older works a spin. I'm not sure that was such a great idea in retrospect, as I'm now sad that this four part OVA is basically just an introduction to the manga, and considering it's already a few years old, it doesn't look like I'll get more in animated form. Too bad, as this looks like something that could be quite enjoyable. I already love the characters, and I'm always down for some good shoot outs and brutal beatdowns with a good dose of likable psychopaths, black humor and terrible Engrish. The OVAs were obviously cheap as hell, and it appears most of the budget was spent on the sword fight in episode 3. Which probably wasn't a bad idea. All in all, this wasn't nearly as well put together as David's latest works, but still enjoyable.
"Better" in what respect? Ironically? I think the only thing that would make it "better" is if Kirito, with his awesome video game skillz, started his own game company and became the next Miyamoto (presumably creating the game that they supposedly play in Accel World).

Thanks, I think I was thinking of another series that had short stories later. Unrelated but I hope , that if Aincrad is ever made into a clip movie, they make it more from Kirito's POV and add some of his internal monologue back in narration or some such.

he suffered from post-logout PTSD, dedicated his life to finding that steel castle again like the SAO badguy, made his own company, and started the cycle anew? Kirito as the final boss is the ending we can all get behind!
I should parlay that into a light novel of my own.
What can I say! It's quick and easy entertainment and still better than a decent chunk of the other light novels on the shelf. I'd rather read SAO than I want to fuck my brother but there are 12 other girls who want to fuck him too Part 47. Plus, he describes action and the game mechanics quite well.

Once upon a time, children were also annoying little shits, tales of poverty and friendly demons were stylish and entertaining as hell to watch and King ENma and his band of goons were the dumbest people "alive".
Thats why I dropped it a few episodes back.
But apparently it crossed THAT line from merely boring and terrible to the rarified air of so abysmal it might be genius.
I wish they would make an anime version of the Newsroom, but about an anime director that is trying to save the industry by making an artistic good show instead of pandering to otaku.
