The new Kirino?

As billed in Japanese, Eromanga-sensei Imouto Akazu no Ma, or Hentai Manga Master: Forbidden Relationship with Little Sister, is the story about a brother caring for his shut-in younger sister, while working as a light novel writer on top of high school. And according to the synopsis, his sister only became his sister one year ago, and you know what that means. The big surprise (or the Eromanga-sensei part, presumably) comes from big bro discovering that his favorite raunchy light novel illustrator is a part of this two-person "family."

It even has the exact same artist and cover pose.

I'm looking forward to the day when computers can spit out this tripe automatically and the hack writers responsible for this garbage are destitute and begging in the streets. The accumulated filth of all their imoutos and lolis will foam up about their waists and all the writers and artists will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."

I'm convinced the author is pissed that he was denied his unequivocal incest ending by his editors/whatever and is doubling down in spite.

Tokyo Ravens Episode 5

Pretty fun and funny episode, I liked Harutoras personality and trying to fit in with everyone, he just a really great guy. Battle for him fit the personality well
with everyone joining in and doing their thing. The dragon is way too cool even, but to be knocked out for four days was too intense.

Still holding a special place in my favorite animes of this season.

Hopefully someone makes a video game, the reactions on the gaming side would be even better than for the Oreimo game.

Not really, it's already making it "safer" than Oreimo by having them be unrelated.

Although I kind of want to see how they justify having a minor be involved in the porn industry. Most sane people would consider that a crime.

I wish we could call Poe's Law on this.
It just seems like it could have been a parody of literally every done-to-death Japanese trope mixed with a big bowl-full of creepy.

No one would read that though, they'd just see the title "Hentai Manga Master: Forbidden Relationship with Little Sister", which would understandably set off a lot of alarms for people.

She ends up being a secret character in that Dengeki fighting game.

Also from that original article

In our interview, author Fushimi and his editor Miki explained that they took their long plane ride as an opportunity to work on a new series.

They really did put about even less effort into this as you'd think.

This is probably how negotiations went, unabridged:

LN company: "You wrote Oreimo, write another one"
Author: "Okay"
I wouldn't be surprised if true

Koe De Oshigoto had a fictional high school girl dubbing hentai

This show really had a sad "calm before the apocalypse" feel. What's gonna happen, guys?

the poison scene was simultaneously funny and incredibly uncomfortable. Also, Anthy suddenly trying to kill herself kinda came out of nowhere and was then forgotten about. That was weird.

I wonder when the light novel bubble will burst. It's been going pretty strong for a few years now, but it's bound to eventually.

I'm not saying that light novels will die, of course, nor am I saying that anime adapted from them will (pretty sure it's been going on since the mid-'90s with Slayers). I just have a strong feeling that in a few years, they won't be so ubiquitous. Or at least the really awful ones won't be.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. CLAMP hates us all. Shoulda known this after Geass, I suppose.

The difference is CLAMP was responsible for all the Blood-C stuff since one of them actually writes it.

I know R2 broke you and all, but I also sincerely prefer that show's ending to this one. Any day of the year.

Oh definitely. Seeing
Suzaku kill Lelouch
is something I'd wanted since
the Euphinator
, that show I was satisfied at the end.

Blood-C I'm just like . . . sigh

I didn't even read the article, so I didn't realize it was actually by the author of Oreimo. Jesus Christ.

I guess when you've struck gold, you don't exactly want to stop mining it, but fucking hell, this isn't even trying.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Like that fake School Days family tree?

You know, incest is an extremely old trope, but I wonder at what exact point in Japanese media did it go from a creepy, gross thing that shows the dysfunction of characters, to a selling point.

Well at least everyone will know how it ends! And it'll tie into the Oreimo verse by taking place in the future, revealing to be Kirino's kids.

Otaku probably still fapped regardless of how the content was presented.

Yozakura Quartet - Hana no Uta 4

Half-mermaid, half-vampire? 9 year-old mayors? This is such a weird setting.

I think that's why I'm okay. It doesn't just try to be a modern setting with fantastical elements, it goes for completely bonkers instead which is much more fun to watch.

Spice and Wolf Season 1
What a surprisingly fun show! Its been on my backlog for quite some time but having seen season 1 I'm immediately reminded of the sort of "episodic journey" type shows like Mushi-shi and Samurai Champloo. It plops you into the life of a travelling merchant and his companion as they go from town to town and what seems like a simple premise is very adequately expanded and made a central pillar of the way the story progresses. The show makes how the main character deals in business actually really super duper entertaining.

The Eccentric Family 1-3
I'd put this show off for a while in favor of watching a lot of what was currently airing but it's quickly becoming one of my favorites of the year. Tanuki Mom is the most adorable thing ever, too.

Kyousougiga 0-3
I'm not sure if i'd agree with people calling it Anime of the Season but it's certainly entertaining enough for me to want to continue the series if for nothing else then to further explore the interesting world the show has created.

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 23-26
A bit of a "by the books" ending for a show that really set the bar quite high for itself in the earlier episodes. You can more or less plot the means that the series is going to end pretty early on and though I was anticipating a "What a twist!" type moment with how early on the main threat was taken care of it didn't really do anything to throw a curveball I think some might expect. Overall though I absolutely enjoyed the series and it definitely scratched an itch I had for solid SciFi shows this year.

Where have you been my entire life? This show! THIS SHOW, GUYS. I can't. It's too good. I'm not worthy. Holy crap, this is the purest form of Super Robot ever. It just, it just is, you know? Everything about this is right. The music, the action, the shouting, the mechs. It's all so ridiculously awesome. It's like one extended metal song you never want to end. Kid hasn't even gotten in his mech yet and it is still so freaking amazing.

So good so good so good

I told you man, I told you. Imagawa is the god of all things Super Robot. They should have statues erected in his honour except that they'd get hit by dramatic lightning all the time.
