Fallout 4 - Multiple E3 Gameplay Demos, Releasing November 10th, 2015

How do you know there will be less options? It could easily work like W3 or Mass Effect where one question asked opens a slot for another to be asked. They could have just as many lines written for your character as before.

Think you can make a low intelligence character that says dumb shit in this game?

Jesus Christ, that crafting system looks overwhelming as fuck. I'm all in for customizing weapons, but that whole bit about building entire homes seems... too much for me. I thought I was watching some real time mod tools instead of the actual game.
It looked no more complicated than it did in Dead Space 3.

I just hope that reviewers are going to be this time objective and score the game for what it is, and not because of the fact that the game is made by Bethesda

Yes, I agree. When you have a buggy game that was nearly unplayable at one platform rated a 96 in metacritic, I fully expect the reviewers to approach it for what it really is and not sweep issues under the work..

looks great but those graphics look like a cross gen game...

and the animations... jesus, I am convinced Bethesda are just incapable of creating a decent animation system...

As for reviewers sorry but anything that has the logo Rockstar or Bethesda is instant GOTY 95+ scoring material. No matter what.

When was the last time Bethesda released a game that wasnt full of glitches and bugs and yet it got GOTY? And on top of that these companies get away with amazing shit each time they release a game, controls are still shit in GTA, hell GOTY! Bethesda still cant create a decent animation or release a game with some moderate playability int erms of bugs, GOTY!

This shit needs to stop.

That is why you dont get better animation in Bethesda games, because nobody cares about it or criticizes it. That is why character movement in GTA is pretty much the same it was in GTA 10+ years ago.

They make great games, but they certainly dont deserve such high praise.

weapon crafting looks tight. i'll likely skip the house building though, not usually a fan of that stuff.

the reveal was about up to my expectations, bethesda has rarely made great looking games. and i'd argue that their rpgs in general are never particularly great. but still there's something about them that still gets me to sink a lot of time into them. i enjoy them though i never love them more than other wrpgs.

hoping this gets a sequel from obsidian. oh god please.

Nah, can't have Obsidian show them how incompetent they are once again.

he said it was optional.

Really? To me it didn't look THAT complex. I mean, it's all side stuff you don't even need to do, but even then it was pretty much like Epic's Fortnite except with furniture and the whole energy stuff to light up things or make other things work.

I'm really looking forward to it!

My main concern is that the game may want to push that part by offering some incentives to build your own place. It looks easy enough to do, but also rather odious in that "god, I need to finish that shit, but let me put that doormat first... and then a fish tank... and maybe a coat hanger after that..." kind of way. Before you know it, you've spend 10 hours crafting a house you don't even wanted to build in the first place. Just another massive waste of time that you'll go through in order to get some perks.

Can't believe the amount of bitchers in this thread.

I was sceptical after the reveal trailer but I'm all in now. Pre-order done.

No issues with the dialogue or voiced mc, it works perfect in ME, Witcher, DA, so no reason for it not to be fine here either. Character creation looks fantastic.

Power armour is finally back to being an ultimate badass again, and I love how you can swap parts out. The rack reminds me of the war machine scene in IM1 with Roadey. Looks massive and huge like it's supposed to be, it's always what made the PA in 3 and NV just look and feel off.

Loving the dog, still hoping they can partner up with Nvidia for their Gameworks stuff.

I admit, animations are a bit stiff and the lip syncing looks a bit weird, but nothing they can't tune up before release.

The crafting looks insane and finally makes scavaging for random parts and crap in a house or basement worth looting. The settlement stuff looks over the top too, so will be interesting to dig into that.

All-in-all it provides a brilliant base game for modders to go nuts with, and I am thoroughly looking forward to release day. Taking a day or two off for this, definitely.

Movement in gta isn't the best but same as ten years ago? Holy hyperbole, what's with the grudge against reviewers, why even bring up GTA? And hell yea the animation is better in this game.

I am so excited for this game. That crafting looks like it'll be the most amazing thing in the game, but I hope to god I'm wrong.

Same here.

I don't want to waste hours building a house to be afraid of being attacked and be forced to play tower defense.

I don't want them to remove the option because people seem very happy with it, but it's not what I'm looking for with Fallout

I was not refering to animation in that aspect but actual gameplay navigation in tight corridors, indoors and in small environemnts.

Tap X to run??? in 2015? You are not able to run and move the camera unless you tweak the controls , but then that messes up something else...Indoor movement in closed spaces is pure crap. And yeah it is the same as GTA3 on PS2... No hyperbole.

That's how I feel. FO3 was janky as hell. Some call Witcher 1 Jank, but man Fo3 is just on another level sometimes. Quests just break, people on the other side of the world just die or fall off a ledge. It's insane. The engine is awful. Such a hassle to play the game, and not want to throw up. Playing in first person mode (this plays or feels nothing like an actually fps) with the 64hz bug is brutal, the performance issues, and the crashes. My god the crashes. I do play their games, but I can't get hype for them. Man the FO3 story left me so sour.

They showed a lot of cool ideas, but no doubt it will be buggy. I'm interested in the engine work. That crafting looks like a recipe for disaster. If it works, and the game turns out to be amazing I'll be impressed. I'll probably play it. I'm just hoping dialogue options aren't limited.

Can I play this as a thief? And is there something like the Dark Brotherhood from Skyrim?
You can sneak, steal, lockpick, and hack. It just matters how proficient you are at it.

Can't believe I just pre-ordered this game. The Pip-Boy edition at that. I had zero interest until the conference. I fell for the hype guys.

Damn that looked really good, except for the animations which need some work.
I love the crafting and weapon/gear customization, I'm usually not the crafting guy.

Glad I watched the demo this morning before work. This game looks like it will be great! I am going to play through 3 again I think to prepare. It has been a long time.
Very excited this got an announced release date too, and this year! Good on Bethesda for not teasing it and then making us wait 18 months.

Honestly wasn't too interested in this until I watched the conference. Played 3/NV and was definitely gonna get this but now I'm actually hyped for it.

I just hope my PC will be able to run it well or I might need to settle with the PS4 edition.

Looked like a lot of fun, definitely a day one purchase for me. The only thing I disliked was how vague the dialogue choices were, never liked that in RPGs. The dialogue diamond isn't perfect either, but if it's necessary for the more dynamic conversations, I suppose I'm fine with it.

I expect 4 to be far better than FO3, but still a bunch worse than NV.

well after the initial disappointment of the teaser I have to say this has gotten me excited. especially the crafting tools.

Watched the videos.

Yep, this is what I imagined. They aren't going to copy Fallout New Vegas (more believable world, better C&C), they aren't going to copy Witcher 3 (characters, good writing). They are going to do a Bethesda game. Bethesda games are more... like MInecraft. or a Minecraft RPG. You explore, you craft, you combat, you level up. You mod it up.
So they are going to focus on their strengths, on how you are able of going whenever you want, do whatever you want, and basically accentuate the sandbox part. Even more crafting, even more customization, building your own settlement, etc.

If anything, it wouldn't be strange to me if some future Elder Scroll drops the need of having a main quest, so instead of improving the writing of the main story, drop it altogether. And just live in their sandbox world.

edit: was the public annoying. You can play as a woman (as any Bethesda game) ? Wohoo! a nukacola? wohoo! a dog? wohoo!

Impressive showing. There were definitely some good surprises that I didn't see coming at all. And Todd Howard felt very sincere in his presentation.

They focused a lot of the showing on peripheral features - I would have liked to see more of the core gameplay (quests, exploration, leveling system, etc). But I understand these things are harder to show in a large press conference. Lots of improvements shown in the character creation, combat, and animations(even if they're still dated). I do really love what they're doing with the house building / crafting systems. That's something I've been dreaming of since I first built the Hlaalu stronghold in Morrowind.

Not sure if I like the voiced protagonist yet. Seems like it could really limit roleplaying potential. Maybe a stronger story will make up for it? We'll see.

But overall I'm pretty happy with Fallout 4 and can't wait to see more.

The crafting side of the game looks insane and complex. The weapon thing will be something I use. The building your castle stuff, well, I see it unnecessary, probably because I like to think as my character as a guy who doesnt have a house in the wasteland, just wandering, like mad max. I hope this didnt damage the development of the main thing.

God, I watched now the trailer and the game looks insane as fuck. I even like the dog now, and I always hated this kind of stuff.

Death by teddybear was just what I need in Fallout4. Hope this runs on my laptop. I don't give a shit about the graphics being not the best. Who cares if you can kill mutants with a gun that shoots teddy bears.
